I'm using Poser 7 with the SR2 current patch. I am having an issue saving my custom morphs for use later on. The figure I'm using is V4 and since it no longer requires INJ/REM like the others (M3, V3, etc.) it's fairly simple to save in the "pose" folder. Here's the issue:
I am selecting my custom V4 by selecting "body". Then going to the "pose" library and saving the morph channels but not the entire "world". I made sure ALL the V4 parts are selected. Then, I load a new V4 into the scene and test the "pose" morphs that were saved. Everything works OK, including the head morphs, with the exception of all the "body" morphs (not to be confused with all the V4 body morphs). All the V4 body morphs save with the exception of the "body" dial morphs. Meaning the body morph dials are all correct, EXCEPT the morphs dials on the "body" such as "young", "fitness", etc. Her chest, abs, legs, etc. all have the morphs set as they were saved, with the exception of the the "body" morphs which are all reset to "0" for some reason.
I have tried several times and everything works fine every time except for those morphs channels in the "body" (i.e. young, etc.). Any thoughts on why only those body morphs are being reset to 0 in the save when all the other V4 body morphs are not? Can you tell me how you save your custom V4 figure and if your V4 will save the "body" morph dials OK for that area of the body.
Thanks for any help.

Do you have the "Use External Binary Morph Targets" unchecked in your preferences?

Yes, I do. Is that OK? I get confused sometimes on when to check or uncheck the "Use External Binary Morph Targets" option. I usually just leave it unchecked.
Thanks.

Ok cool cause V4 doesn't play well when the "Use External Binary Morph Targets" box is checked.
It seem to cause all kinds for V4.

Remember that the problem isn't exactly "Use External Binary Morph Targets". It's that V4 causes Poser to save gibberish morphs. These are ignored when stored in the Poser file directly and don't cause (m)any problems except the loss of the several morphs. But they bring Poser down when stored in the PMD external morph file - which is Poser's way of saving, whoops we still can't program to save our lives.

Does anyone have a solution for this (see original post)? Surely there is because of all the V4 character packs sold here that work just fine. Maybe one of the marketplace people can chime in and say how they save their morphs for the V4 body, which includes the "body" dial of V4 such as "young", "fitness", etc. Surely others have saved their custom V4 figures OK or else there would be FAR more outcry and no market place items would exist because of the saving V4 morphs issue.
Thanks.

On the "Use External Binary Morph Targets" I just leave this always unchecked which is the best way to go, which is also what most others to since it is not a problem with being able to read a file with V4 in it. But as kuroyume has stated. Now on to your original question.
I have noticed that sometimes when I save a V4 morph that I created and just copy over to the Figure or Pose folders sometimes the body morphs dials go back to 0 but actually retain the morph, its strange sometimes when I do saves and want to compare things. I keep the original and bring in a new figure that either has the changes already applied (figure folder) or apply them (pose folder) to see if everything worked since Poser 7 has some glitches still :tongue2: . I never thought about trying to see if this happens in Poser 6 until now with your question.
One thing I am starting to do now which I have not noticed yet is saving the morphs as a Full Body Morph, try that after you made all your alterations and see if that gives you any better help.

I know morphs in the body didn't save in older versions so it is probably the same issue.
