I have a scene I need to render with the Commander in front and several troops standing behind him. For the commander I'm going to use Major Cache:

What I need is a set of "battle armor" for the troops, for either M3 or D3. It needs to be less fancy than Major Cache and preferably have a helmet that covers the entire head and face.
TIA!

Grim VAP from SanctumArt. The expansion pack has a variant helmet which covers the whole head and face, plus alternate chest and arm pieces. Expensive, poly heavy and the materials are set up for Poser 4 but IMO, the stuff is worth every penny.
BTW, the full head/face helmet can be seen in one of my Poser forum banners.
I don't have any but the SF stuff at Xurge3D looks good, too.

grim is very nice but will set you back $95. with the add on.
have you looked at the add on, United Colonial Marines
for Major Cache. it would keep things inline.
you could try looking at daz.
there are lots to pick from

The biggest problem with the Grim armor is the super-high poly count. You'll be pushing your system with one set of grim armor let alone several.
Xurge would be where I would (and do) go for my sci-fi and fantasy armor. Xurge's prices are much lower, you can get 5+ outfits for less money.
Of course the Grim armor is really cool looking (in a Nazi/Facist sort of way)... Great armor for villains.

If you aren't wedded to the closed helmet, you might try MOS Invasion, also by Uzilite. It works pretty well with Major Cache, since it's by the same artist. Another artist, D. W. Mitchell, has texture add-ons for both sets which work well together as well.

I can recommend Xurge's HAIPS armour, a superb piece of kit!

It might be worth looking at this in the marketplace. The freebie bonus armour for M3 includes a full face helmet.Neyjour posted Tue, 05 February 2008 at 10:40 PM
Thank you so much everyone!
Grim looks awesome but I just can't afford it, plus I do need to think about poly count. As for the rest...Hmmm...decisions, decisions. I almost wish you guys hadn't mentioned Xurge...I see a bunch of stuff from there that I've LOVE to have. LOL!
Thanks again for the help!

dunno if it's to bulky or fancy, but WH40k armor is available at Daz's freepository. It definitely covers everything...;)
