In the Make Movie dialog (Poser 4's is shown here) you can select: Current Display Settings Current Render Settings or Current Sketch Settings. Use current render settings if you want the same effect as you have set up for a still image.

Hi, EnglishBob.
I think you are great user.
(I downloaded your Freestuff a lot.)
Thank you about your help.
But, your answer is different.
I used poser 7.
And it has 'Toon Render' option.
I think you use poser 4 with propack.
Ofcourse, Poser 4 is good program.
But it is different a little with Poser 7.
Sorry and thank you.

Sorry, I have Poser 4 here (I'm at work) and Poser 6 at home. I don't know what the differences are in the make movie dialogue - but a Poser 7 user will be able to tell you, I'm sure. Thanks for the kind words!

Attached Link: Some example shaders

Which shader do you use? I think, the shader is wrong - you need a cartoon shader for that. the upper picture looks right, the lower not - is it the same shader?

Toon renders are done with the materials. They render like any other render.

Make sure that you are in toon with outline mode like in Dr. Geep's tutorial.  Then in the 'Make Movie' tab, choose Preview for the renderer.  This should let you render a movie using the same technique that Dr. Geep suggested.

I haven't tried this myself, but it should work.  Good luck!

smalll, it is possible to make movie using either toon render or toon shaders.

  1. from what source did you receive toon shader in your 004.jpg?

  2. why did you apply toon shader to the alternate diffuse channel,
rather than the diffuse channel (at top of channel list)?

Thank you about replies.

Deer bantha
I did not use a separate shader.
I mean the shader like below image.
www.bokgi.net/test/005.jpg
You can see arrow in above image.
And below two image is same.
www.bokgi.net/test/003.jpg
www.bokgi.net/test/004.jpg
If I reder it then it seems like 003.jpg
And if I see it in Material Room, it seems like 004.jpg

Deer ezuk
I don't want out line.
Because, out line of poser is too thick.
It is not beautiful.
And Poser can support toon without out line.

Deer Miss Nancy
I did not use a separate shader.
I mean the shader like below image.
www.bokgi.net/test/005.jpg
You can see arrow in above image.
And I applied diffuse channel (at top of channel list)
Then the result is like below image.

I want to know can I make movie by Toon Render.
(It is mean like below image that Toon Render.

Can you help me?

small, you can make movie using poser 7 "toon render" function, and if you want to make the poser 7 lines look nice and smooth (as if they are anti-aliased), then render at 4X desired size, then reduce rendered frames to 25% in image editor or video editor.

I do not know why the body fails to render as toon, unless your render settings are wrong
and your movie settings do not use your render settings.  post a screen image of
your render settings and your movie settings.

Deer Miss Nancy

I offer you my heartfelt thanks about your reply.
Most of all, your idea is very good about outline problem.
I didn't think the way like that.

And, I applyed the material successfuly in material room.
It look good. (below image)
www.bokgi.net/test/007.jpg

But, movie is different.
The movie does not apply toon render.
www.bokgi.net/test/003.avi

Is it impossible of attainment?

ezuk posted Thu, 07 February 2008 at 11:39 PM

Click on the animation tab at the top of the screen and then on 'make movie.'  You will see an option called 'Renderer.'   Make sure that this says Firefly or Poser 4.  If you use Preview or Sketch, the movie will not use the materials you applied for your movie.  If you use Firefly or Poser 4, it will.

Miss Nancy posted Thu, 07 February 2008 at 11:39 PM

smalll, it is possible of attainment.
7.swf
but it is necessary to set render settings at (firefly, final)
and to set movie settings to render settings. in your movie
you have used preview renderer, not firefly renderer.

(xposted with ezuk).

Wow! It is possible!
I didn't know that.
I think it is impossible.
And I am waiting the answer - No.
But, it is possible.
I´d like to express my heartfelt thanks to you.
I thank to ezuk from the bottom of my heart.
I am deeply grateful to Miss Nancy.
