I really cant keep up with all the changes all the time , seems like I get a new version of carrara every time I turn around. At any rate do I still need transposer with carrara pro 6?

Yes and no! Transposer in C6 only used IF you have scenes created in C5 using transposer. Other way you will build your scenes using the Runtime in the browser.

Wow, this programs really growing complex. So if i want to use content from runtimes scattered all around my computer, it would be best to load up transposer, or try to drive myself insane and copy all my runtimes into one place?

almost makes me fear going from poser 5 atm to poser 7.

You can add all your Runtimes to the Browser. Dont need t use Transposer anymore.

I'm gonna throw in on this one as well, and say that you still need Transposer.

Mainly for large scenes where memory overhead is critical.  When you import stuff using the Carrara importer, you are taking the bones and all the posing into Carrara which causes a lot of memory to be used.  It's the same thing when I try to pull DAZ Studio formatted files into Carrara as well.  I can get away with multiple V3/M3 figures with Transposer as the importer, whereas I'm lucky if I can get two done without memory allocation errors in a fully built scene.

And for the record, the most characters I have pulled off in a scene are three V3's, an M3, and a Don, all fully clothed in the Mog Ruith interior, all handled through Transposer...

Not to mention that dynamic cloth isn't in Carrara yet.  And some of us find the Poser library system and posing dials, though clumsy, at least more familiar than Carrara's equivalent.  So Transposer can still be useful in certain workflows.

Oddly enough, I did a scene recently using both Transposer, Native import, and straight obj import.  Unfortunately, they all came into the scene at slightly different positions and scales.

I know, that drives me nuts...I've played around with a Copy of C6 and found that if you set the Transposer scaling units to around 80-100, you can get good results versus the internal objects and vegetation that Carrara has.

I sent in a bug report.  It was closed and marked "not an issue."

Stage6 was shut down. How is it these videos are still there? Has anyone been able to download them still?
