How do you lower the horizon? I'm wanting an image with about 3/4 of it sky and the rest ground. The problem is when I lower the terrain, it looks like it is surrounded by water. Changing the camera angle isn't helping. is there another way?

No you can't physically move the horizon position in Bryce. The only thing you will have to do is raise the camera to a higher position and tilt the camera to the desired angle.
Welcome by the way!

I think you might be lowering the terrain below the infinite ground plane.
Check the position of the terrain by using one of the horizontal views. You probably want to raise your terrain so that most of it is just above the plane.
After adjusting, reset your camera view.

You can then further adjust by dragging the Y axis.
P.S. there are no daft questions - not anymore anyway - I asked them all. Lol.
Otherwise the horizon is stubborn.

One other shortcut to moving your screen: Using your thumb(hold the space bar on the keyboard which changes your cursor arrow to a hand....now you can manually drag up-down-left-right. (no rotation though).
Here is an outstanding Reference page for starting out....I STILL review it from time to time.
