Anyone know if it's possible to import Solidworks models into Carrara??
Thanks,

Unfortunately, not directly (I wish there was !!). You need to export from SW as IGES, SAT, STEP, or VDAFS, and you have to have Carrara Pro, since that's the only version that can import these formats. Or you'd have to find a file translator (I haven't found any other than REALLY expensive ones) to convert.

I use a kind of round about way to inport our companie's 3d assets out of solidworks.
Output the soildworks assm as a VRML model. Then convert in deep explorer to 3Ds.

Thank you all!!!
Saving the Solidworks file as a "STEP" file works great. It imports into Carrara Pro well. My client is happy and I can now offer this deeper service.
