OK!!! That's more like it. Me likes....me wants. Good job Mark on those mats...are they ALL procedural? No bitmaps?

Hot indeed. One word: when?
Monsoon posted Wed, 20 February 2008 at 4:47 AM
Yup, all procedural...no bitmaps ( a personal challenge to myself)....and soon. A few weeks I imagine. Got to make a construction tutorial and complete a few more objects.

Very impressive Monsoon. Looks like another must have. One question - are the mats animateable? In other words, do they look cool when animated as well?
Monsoon posted Wed, 20 February 2008 at 11:28 AM
I don't know Dave....never tried to animate a material. Maybe I'll give it a shot after work.
Monsoon posted Wed, 20 February 2008 at 12:18 PM
Ok...you got my curiosity up and I ran home for lunch (two blocks away) and tried it out. All I tried was velocity of origin and yes indeed they are animatable. Looks pretty cool too!

I hope you switched the computer off when you went back to work Mark. Otherwise, "burning down the house" - was a great hit from Talking Heads.

When will these be available in a tut? I would like to try animating them as I have found no good fire/explosion/smoke tuts for Vue. These look very promising.....

One of my favorites too. It evokes memories of a certain time in my life. You know how songs can do that. I seem to remember Suddenly Last Summer and Lawyers in Love about the same time...

Those look great as procedurals on spheres. I'd like to see how well they work in a Vue scene.

Not quite done yet...still cookin'. I like to make sure my packs are chock full of toys. All of the ones in the gallery are procedural and animatable.
