I have a VUE object that was originally a COB TrueSpace file.  I am trying to convert this to OBJ, LWO, or 3DS so I can get it into Poser.  I have it now in Vue 6 Esprit but prefer to do some updating in Poser.

Is there any shareware out there (cannot find anything so far) that will do the trick for me?  tks

Nope. No way to convert vob to another format with Esprit. But I suppose that if you get the Vue Infinite PLE, you'll be able to export it to 3ds or obj. Bear in mind that some Vue objects are locked from export. Not a Vue limitation, but one put by the maker of the object.

Get the PLE, you never know.

You can always send the VOB to someone with Infinite and ask him/her to do the conversion for you. It's a matter of seconds and I think this wouldn't be violating any law. I can do it for you, if you like.

My PLE zip file contains a folder which in turn contains setup.exe and a bunch more folders and files. Unzip everything to a temporary folder and run the setup.exe, assuming you're on Windows.

Download it with Firefox, I could never get a proper download of the PLE wth IE.

Using the PLE to export OBJ works fine for me.

If it was a Truespace file, and you have that Truespace file, I can get it into *.3ds or *.obj for you.

I have successfully imported it into PLE and am tyring to export it as an OBJ. My first attempt created the object but did not carry the material assignments - there are 55 separate material groups on this model.  They look good in Vue but I need to keep these assignments so when they go into Poser I won't have to remap the entire obj for mats.

Thanks for all of your suggestions but now I need to save the file with mat assignments. Ideas?
