Some of you will know that I was recently given my own radio show. Radio Bronglais is the oldest running Hospital Radio in the UK and after I passed my training course I was given my own rock show called 'Bronglais Rocks', probably a station first.
Now I did give you guys a dedication, but because the station only serves the hospital for the benefit of the staff and patients, there was no way you could ever hear the show. So what I've done is this: I've had my entire 2nd show transferred to cd and I've edited a clip for you guys to hear just the relevent part. Anymore than this and I run into copyright issues.
It's ain't stereo and the quality isn't fantastic but if you have a decent mp3 player it should sound ok with a bit of tweeking. Hope you like!
You can find this clip in my file locker next to the Bryster Jingle I posted ages ago. It's called 'Bryce Dedication' and it's about 2mb.
C&Cs welcome, but it's just for fun. Oh, and it was only my second solo 'flight' so excuse the presenter !!!!!!

O.K. all's well and good but I have a few questions:
Does the Radio Station broadcast to all the hospitals or just the one?
Did anyone ever tell you you sound a bit like Eric Idle?
Does anyone ever ask you to play "Misty" for them?
Will "Is there live on Mars?" be returning to BBC 1 in the fall?
and Why did no one ever tell me that "Red Dwarf" was a sit-com? All this time I thought it was of a more serious bent such as "Tripping The Rift" or "Futurama".
any rate: good news ! ! ! Congratulations ! !

Ah...I remember my sojourn into radio years ago.
I finished my first show, looked at the guy who was my "co-host" and said,
"Let's get out of here before we really f*** something up"
Only then did I notice the mic was still hot...
Ah well..we didn't get fired and even managed to last a couple years.
I look forward to giving you a listen!!

Just our local general hospital. But HR presenters can go on to bigger things. It's often considered a stepping stone for TV/Radio journalism or presentation careers with the BBC etc.
Did anyone ever tell you you sound a bit like Eric Idle?
No and I don't sound like John Cleese either.
Does anyone ever ask you to play "Misty" for them?
LOL Not yet, but then I don't take requests via the phone - only from people who inhabit strange websites.
Will "Is there live on Mars?" be returning to BBC 1 in the fall?
LIFE ON MARS is changing as I understand -although I've never watched it. It is morphing into something slightly different.
Thanks for listening!

Stepping Stone:
Could be; we'll keep our fingers crossed.
Jon Cleese: I could hear it now ..."yes you do" ... "no I don't" .. "that'll be 3.50" ... "you call that an argument?" ... "yes it was" ... "no it wasn't" ... "yes it was"
o.k. fine, you don't sound like Eric Idle. (yes, you do)
Life on Mars:
Well for a cop show it's pretty good. Detective Sam is run over by a car, passes out and finds himself 30 years in the past . . . here's the rub. Although he's thirty years ago, he finds himself assigned to his "old" precinct and you guessed it as a detective; where he solves a serial murder he was working on in the time yet to be ... or is he imagining it all from a hospital bed ? Well I've only seen the one episode but it seems worth watching - providing "Bikermice from Mars", "The Eyes of Laura Mars" , "Mars needs Women", "War of the Worlds" or "Total Recall" isn't playing opposite. I'll look forward to figuring out wha you're talking about.
I still think "Red Dwarf" could have done without a laugh track. If I seem obsessed it is only because when I was studying anti-hacking etc the famous virus who's name escapes me for the moment would corrupt people's computers with lines from "Red Dwarf" so you can see how I'd want to know what some of the lines from "Red Dwarf" were incase I ever got infected from that particular virus I could say, "Hey, I've been infected by the so-and-so virus. I know this because I recognise one of the lines from the British series, "Red Dwarf". Unfortionately I found the program unwatchable because of the laugh track so I guess I'll never know . . . so sad !!

The follow-up to "Life on Mars" is now showing here in the UK; it's called "Ashes to Ashes". I've never watched either, but the coppers I work with never miss an episode (or an opportunity to quote it ad nauseam.).
I used to be a model-maker on Red Dwarf; my late brother was the SFX designer:

@Paul Francis...really?...a model maker for the show. Was that in 3D or actual models. If it was 3D, y' got any hangin around in .3ds you might be willing to share in Free Stuff...I for one was never put off by the laff track and loved the show...almost as much as Blake's Seven, but no where near as much a Hitch hiker's Guide....hard to top that one for sure.. ...

Wow, I'd forgotten what your voice sounded like Chris. But I think radio voice is different from conversation voice anyhow. I don't have a clue who eric idle is so I can't say if you sound like him. But you definately don't sound like John Cleese. You do have a nice voice like Rosie said.
Thanks for mentioning us asylum peeps. Er Brycers that is.

Ears perks up Blake's 7??!!??? That's my all time favorite SciFi show back in the 80's... That's one show that should be revived... I would like to see how it all ends... Never got a chance to as by the time the show was ending, I went from working days to working evenings and nights and would you know the days they aired the show I was working??!!?? VCR and Betamix wasn't in my price range even with the amount of overtime and shift differentials I got paid with... :crying: By the time the price came down and I made a decent enough salary, it was over and gone from the tube for good. No reruns, nothing... I pity the fool that made the programming decisions over at the sci fi channel...
You know anything about those SFX on those shows?

Hee, hee......most of the time, growing up in the UK in the 1970's, the fact that you were related to the guy responsible for the wobbly sets and dodgy FX at the BBC wasn't something you'd crow about......different now, of course.....there were 200 people at his funeral, including Rik Mayall, Ade Edmondson and Tom Baker.
Hey Thunderstone, you can get all those series now on Region 2 DVDs for absolute buttons nowadays here in the UK.

Bryster,
I agree with Ang, you don't sound like Eric Idle nor John Cleese (I should know about that, he's always telling me he's not going to help me carry my bags!)
But then like Ang says, you don't sound like you do on the phone either.
I think you must be a split personality.
Paul Francis,
Really liked Blake's 7, sigh... Paul Darrow.... Loved the sound of his voice.
And the Bryster doesn't sound like him either.
But there's something about that radio voice...

I am honored to be in such prestigious company, Paul. Sorry to hear about your brother.
Maybe I was thinking of Father Malaki Martin or one of those guys who used to frequent the Art Bell show. I was sure that it was Eric Idle though . . . and I won't carry your bags either - I do do windows though.
Yes, I'd agree with Bobby; 'The Guide' is hard to beat ! ! of course if you're talking 42 then The Doctor is in ! !
