Can the DAZ Studio Runtime/Libraries be added as an External Runtime in Poser5 without screwing up the DAZ Studio/Runtime/Libraries when P5 makes (duplicates) of the library folders that already exist in DAZ Studio. Don't want to lose my DAZ studio Runtime/libraries, but would like to access then from Poser 5.

DAZ|Studio Runtime directories can be used in Poser without a problem. DAZ|Studio is designed to be Poser compatible so the Runtime directory uses the same structure as Poser's. DAZ|Studio keeps no DAZ|Studio specific content in the Runtime directory, that is where it keeps Poser content. Poser doesn't duplicate the Runtime, it references it. Point Poser at the directory beneath the Runtime directory, in the case of "C:Program FilesDAZStudioContentRuntime" that would be "C:Program FilesDAZStudioContent". For an external runtime you do the same, eg for "F:RuntimesMilleniumRuntime" you would point Poser at "F:RuntimesMillenium".

Thanks Andrew & everyone else. I got it all done and yes the DS Poser runtime is accesable in Poser5. It wasn't until then that I learned that because of the difference between he way P5 & P6&P7 handle joints V4.1, V4.2 & A4 won't work in P5. Which was my purpose in doing this whole thing, since having 2 copies of V4.2 on your hardrive causes problems. Can't afford P6 or P7. Soooooooooo :- (

I'm pretty sure V4.2 does mostly work in P5. The 4000 "newer version" warnings you have to click through when you load it are a pain, but I injected the morphs and saved it back to Poser as a new figure - No more warnings. I haven't used her much in P5 and I wouldn't be surprised if V4.2 isn't 100% compatible, but I havent noticed anything yet. I wouldn't want to load more than 1 V4 though, because P5 really struggles under her weight.
Don't forget you have to copy the "Runtimelibraries!DAZVictoria 4" and "Runtimelibraries!DAZV4toV3" directories to your main Poser runtime, or the morphs won't work.
Edit caveat - mostly, spelling
