You're sure you had both eyes wide open and it was not hallucinations that triggers those inspirations??? :m_hide:

I think I can speak fairly on Rod's behalf in saying that it was PRECISELY those hallucinations he was referring to as his inspiration. Either that or that in combination with some weird fascination with skulls lately....

How about "Extremes"?
I was thinking of Extreme Cold, for which you could do a very cold day in a forest... mountain... lake.... or even a cafe... lol, as I thought about the contact of a very very cold drink with the environment of a hot day, and that lead me to think of Hot... Extreme Heat, boiling lava, falling into the gravity field of a hot sun, steam, hot coals, fire etc etc.
What do you think?

I like the Idea, would this specifically pertain to Landscape and/or Eniviromental Scenery?

FranOnTheEdge posted Fri, 07 March 2008 at 3:42 PM
Well... I think that as long as it's Bryce that should be left to the preference of the artist, since some are landscape enthusiasts, (and very good at it) and some are boolean/primitives/mesh enthusiasts and similarly good at that.
Is that okay?
Are we allowing bits from other apps? (koff koff)

Sounds great to me. I only ask because I know others will be curious as to the guidelines.
This is your creation, you draw the parameters out, and everyone fills it in with their inerpretation.
The Choice for imports and Postwork is strictly up to you.

FranOnTheEdge posted Fri, 07 March 2008 at 6:50 PM
Well I do have a sneaking preference myself for a certain heretical app, perhaps we should say that if you import something from another app (koff wings3d etc) - some parts of the scene must be Bryce made... I mean at least one model must be totally Bryce made, terrains, water etc usually are Bryce anyway.
As for post work, I'd say minimal only - this is the Bryce forum after all...
All much as usual.
Anything else?

So is the idea to illustrate extremes of ANY kind?
Or is it more to illustrate extreme temperature
ThunderStone posted Fri, 07 March 2008 at 7:38 PM
Sort of like a melting piece of metal in the desert kind of thing? That would be extreme heat...

but going with extreme temps is cool...I as just looking for clarification really
skiwillgee posted Sat, 08 March 2008 at 8:08 AM
Oh, oh I got an idea. (sadly I don't have the skills or computer power to pull it off, I must think of something else) This seems like a very good challenge idea, Fran.
FranOnTheEdge posted Sat, 08 March 2008 at 10:31 AM
Oh, that must be so painful skiwillgee. That'd drive me crackers, I'd have to at least attempt it....
Claymore, Yeah, I think we'll stick with the temps... mind you nothing to stop you doing extremes of lots of things... so long as hot and/or cold are the main theme....

ROTFLMAO!
It seems like, and probably is, years since I started this heresy thing, and now look! It's part of our daily language. You guys have been talking about a 'certain hertical app'......my work here is done! LOL
Extremes? Sounds like a challenge to me. Wish I had time to take part. But don't forget stuff like extremes of character, mood, distance, light or dark, or 'going to extremes'.
Good luck to everyone and well done Fran!

Bryster,
A silly question, but I take it that it's one entry per user.
This is harder than I thought when limited to a theme and I've never submiited any of my work to be judged. Excellent theme idea from Fran though and I'm enjoying it so far.

Tanglmara: Strangely, no. I do beleive that you can enter more than once if time permits. But that might be up to Fran.

Over to you Fran.
