I've put a new image in my gallery, and wondered what you lot think of it, I'm particularly interested in the dragonfly as I tried out a trick with the wings and I'm not sure if it works in this scene or if I could improve it.You see I'm using erosiaart's laser flowers idea with the Adamite xray mats. Well... I started with those mats and then adjusted them somewhat to produce a greater range of colours.
The dragonfly is a freebie from boroda (in Rendo's freestuff) and comes UV Mapped - I took it into wings, tidied the model up a bit, and then separated some areas from the UV Maps so I could try out this trick...
the one I'm not sure of...
I left the uv map on the underside of the wings and put an x-ray mat on the top surface, in this way I hoped to keep some of the wing tracery from the uv's and yet still get the glowingness of the x-ray mats.
It's sort of worked, I can still see the wing tracery and I have got a different colour to the wings, but the 'glowingness' is not really there.
I felt it still suited the ambience (feel) of the scene but just wondered if there might be a way to get more glow... what do you think?
(Oh, I also put x-ray mats on most of the rest of the dragonfly - all I left are the underside of the wings and the legs)
