Not the DTE, don't worry... In the 'ordinary' texture editor I need to duplicate one of the component channels of a procedural texture. The problem I have is that the channel I wish to duplicate was generated at random originally (so I can't reconstruct it) and I can't find a way to 'copy and paste' the channel. Has anybody tried this sort of thing before, or does anybody know a work around I could use? Cheers, Alex

Try this. Select your object and then the [M] icon.
In the Texture Editor select the Texture Source Editor by clicking the second button on the top of the selection box to the right of the TE frame.
This brings up the DTE.
You should now see what componants are active. With any luck you will be able to isolate the component channel you need by cancelling the channels you Don't need.

I'm not sure if this will work, but it's worth a try.
Hope this helps.

 Alex, to be sure, you want to copy a Material Editor component to another?
The why I do it is to go into the DTE for the component that you want to copy (using TheBryster's steps). Next to the Combination box, click the top brass colored gadget which loads the DTE texture library. Save the texture in any of the sub-cats. Exit the DTE and click in a dot in an empty ME component to create a new one. Then click the down arrow at the top right of the component and from the popup select the texture you just saved.
Hope that's what you were looking for.
Best;
Dan
