Ive been reworking that set of lekkus i started from a previous post for about a month now. Work and family commitments ment i lost the time to make them as i wanted so they never got to be a figure i was happy to publish. Now ive nearly finished them and have posted a couple of images to the galleries to see if theres any intrest in them still.
so far ive managed a fully posable skullcap with attached lekku.
Im sticking with just 'bone n pose' as i think it gives a more natural curve for whats ment to be a living item.but this makes it something like a 83 boned figure item.
they are UVd for texturing with triangular lekku maps to help with scale at the tips and the templates are attached and theres a basic skin texture plus a map of a V3 head of wheres best to cut the skin texture from if your feeling lazy 9).
Ive worked only 2 morphs at the moment, one for two male bumps on the forehead and one for stretching the width of the skullcap to help with fitting and scaling.
So far, ive managed to fit them to V3 V4 M3 and A3, but with scaling and the morph, they seem to fit most charecters.
So far, some problems ive found are that i havent been able to make it a conforming item, so first placement has to be done by hand and parented to the head,it then needs tiny tweeks of movement to firt with out a seam, so if it looses its parent, its difficult to replace with out an undo. Dragging the leeku tails to pose is something not to do as they get out of control very quickly. its easyer to leave the tail posing till the very last thing, after pose and all props are added. Then go down the bone chains and rotate each that you need using the dials. Theres also a small amount of overlap on the tail-cap join when using a high displacement map.
Ive decided to leave the ears exposed for personal choice, and if you wish lumpy ears i suggest you use 'Keiths' great Morphs to lumpyfy them.
I dont think there ready to publish as a freebie just yet with out a bit more testing, and thats where i hope my fellow twix users will help me. Im sure theres things i havent done, or have just slipped my mind, or better morphs to make. or just to see if my packaging of a poser item works, lol
so im asking just a few to test these for me on trust that they wont be shared with anyone else or even published, (not that i think any of you would, but ive got to be careful to cover my work).
if you wish to test, please reply and ill EMAIL them to you, then please reply here for ideas, problems or anything youve found, (please dont email them to me as ive a wild junk filter on my mail and deletes nearly everything thats not recognised). If for some reason loads of people want them from here, then im sorry but not every one will get a set mailed to them, if i did, i wouldnt have to upload them at the end
Ill start to upload other stuff ive worked on for the SW community shortly, there mainly small props and nothing like the amount of time ive spent on these lekkus.
Ive got to thanks PhilC for his tutorials and posts to forums that have helped me alot in making these, ironic realy as its his set that started me off doing these
So i hope you like them
