Hey all,
I'm trying to create a light prop that actually illuminates the enviroment. For example, If I take a simple cylinder prop, is there a way to use the material room or lighting effects to make it glow in the dark? I know this can be done in Studio Max. But I want to know if this can be done in Poser as well.
Thanks for any help.

I have a sample poser prop in my freebies, a lamp with a light set that is intended to be parented to the prop and act like a practical light. You're welcome to check that out. It is a bit of a cheat, although I think the concept works pretty well and I use it a lot now.

It can be done.

Yeah that is a powerful cool trick, although I think it's a bit overkill for just faking a lamp with no object directly next to it to catch a realistic looking glow (what the gather node does in that thread).

That's right. If the lamp is free standing, just using translucence and a spot or point light inside the lamp is enough.

That Ambient is exctly what I'm looking for thanks! I've tried using the lights parented to translucent objects but I don't care much for the end results. Thanks though for the suggestion.
