I could get to www.cgsociety.org here in Canada  and I can get to www.cgsociety.com which is you're typical SPAM AD Site.

It works from the U.S. Maybe it's China. They have been really pissed about the riots in Tibet getting posted on U-tube.

works in Fresno.

Of course, there's a difference. If you want the org, that's probably accessible. If you want the com, that's not accessible because it is an URL that's up for sale.

 org,,thunderstone.. sorry bout that typo..
links don't open at all... you get to the front page, but that's it.

scanmead posted Thu, 27 March 2008 at 12:31 PM

Are the links coming up 404's or just not loading? CGTalk has been taking some serious time to load each page for me, especially if posting.

erosiaart posted Fri, 28 March 2008 at 8:49 PM

just not loading..click on a link..and it doesn't load.
i dunno if it's firewalled in hong kong.. it seems like that.. just tried again now..same thing...

danamo posted Fri, 28 March 2008 at 10:53 PM

I just tried it and everything worked as usual for me.

scanmead posted Sat, 29 March 2008 at 2:53 AM

hmmm.. today it was loading faster, but then I kept getting a "server too busy, try later" message. Then there's the issue between Cogent and TeliaSonera that might be disrupting things.

scanmead posted Sat, 29 March 2008 at 7:50 PM

Here's the answer: CGTalk lost one of its database servers. They have a new one ordered, and will get things back up to speed as quick as possible. One tip mentioned was that "guest users" will see pages load faster than if you sign in. Hang in there, erosiaart, it should only be a couple of days.
