Hi All, Probably a dumb question, but how come things for Vicki do not work on P4 females?? And why is all the good stuff just for Vicki hemmmm??? Sealtm2

Hey.. I'm guessing you are new to the poser arena as I was a month ago. vicki is a totally new model from the P4 Female. She has different dimensions and such. The clothes don't fit the p4 models for this reason. As for all the good stuff, it does seem that way, but I've found a lot of good stuff for the p4 fem. You just have to look a little harder. good luck. Dragontales

There's a huge amount of very good stuff on the free stuff pages for Posette and to a lesser extent in the store. All my free stuff and store stuff is for P4 woman and man only

Eve 4.0 is the best, I think, of the free characters. I don't have Vicki or any other character that is for sale, though. Looks like Solondra would be the best.
sparrowheart posted Mon, 16 April 2001 at 4:50 AM
Eve 4.0 is also my favourite model to work with, although I do have Victoria. Eve has the advanced posability of Victoria, but without the strange body and face. I hate to say mean things about Vicky, but to me, she just is too masculine. Eve wears Posette clothes, though they do have to be converted for her. There is an excellent tutorial available at MorphWorld, where you also can get Eve for free. Remember too, if you really want Victoria, that a version 2 of her is soon to be released. I would wait for that.

I think Azura, which is also downloadable free from morph world, is the best female model. Its basically eve4 with a high resolution head that is mapped separately so that you can apply a separate texture map. Id take Azura/Eve over Vicky anyday, but Mike is definitely worth the money. Azura's eyes are also far more realistic. The body is excellent, and comes with a wide variety of morphs that let you create more natural characters than with the default p4 woman. The only problem that I have with Azura/Eve is that the creators seemed to be so fixated with the genitalia that with the endless modifications that they made there are ALWAYS strange deformations around the hip area in frontal renders. I havent tried it yet, but maybe the smooth gen morph will help that a bit.the3dwizard posted Mon, 16 April 2001 at 7:24 AM

I agree the default Vicky is probably not the best however she comes with a LOT of morphs that you can use to adjust here looks. My Marjorie character was created just using her standard morphs. BTW P4 clothes can be made to fit Vicky. Just takes a lot of work. Also for Vicky 2 to wear Posettes cloths they will have to make Vicky 2's body look and act like Posettes. Which has already been done. I think someone added Vicky's head to Posettes body.jnmoore posted Mon, 16 April 2001 at 7:41 AM
DAZ has suggested you wait for Vicky 2 if you're planning on buying Vicky. There will be body morphs to make Vicky 2 accept P4 clothes included with the model. Pricing has not yet been established, but there will be a discount for Vicky 1 owners. You can get, literaly, hundreds of P4 morphs at Traveler's site (some are for clothes even) to make the P4 male and female look like almost anyone you wish morphs.bbay.com/main.html BeBop has also put a lot of nice things for the P4 female up in free stuff, and in the store. There are also 3 CD's full of P4 clothes and props available from Poser World at very reasonable prices www.poserworld.com (the site should be up in the very near future, but you can still order the CD's from them now). Hope this helps

I've never bought a 3d model and I've been doing this 3d stuff nigh well on two years. (Started with a picture done in Bryce, discovered an old VRML program, went downhill from there:)) So, obviously, I've never made anything for Vicky. There is some awesome stuff for sale. However, there is also some awesome stuff for free, too! It's just a matter of finding it. Just remember, freestuff people thrive on feedback. :) -kimmarcusdphoadley posted Wed, 10 May 2006 at 7:48 AM

bebop seems to be no more, and this post is originally from a time before I even knew that Poser existed. I f anyone knows the whereabouts of, or has knowledge of what happened to, either bebop himself, or his 'tons' of Posette freestuff, please post it here so that we can all know. This is part of the Poser communities heritage, and we shouldn't let it die.

Bebop got banned, long ago. And, then, about a year later, his stuff wasn't available anywhere, any longer.
dphoadley posted Wed, 10 May 2006 at 8:34 AM
Any idea why he got banned? I've heard that it's been done occasionally, such as with Ron Knights and Ironbear, but it still seems rather drastic.

He was at one point, I think .. A ton of people have been banned here. Most were temporary bans, some were more permanent.
As a side note: Can we plese stop with the necro posting. Make one new post annoucing where Eve is and then keep interest alive and don't dig up every post from the last 5 years that mentioned her .. Thanks :)

he got banned because of a copyright argument he got into with Blackhearted, if I remember correctly. it got a bit out of hand, as things did back then, and i guess he ignored some warnings so they booted him.

I don't mind you liking Eve and trying to stir up interest :) It is just I have to look at all of these posts from 5 years ago :) Some are clear like ones with Eve in the title but others aren't. Like this one.
Just start up a new one with Eve now available again as the title and show what she can do and try to bring interest back to her. That would be my suggestion.
Just my two cents :)

Posette can't wear Vicki's clothes for the same reason I can't wear my daughter's clothes. We're not the same size (or shape). ;)

Yes. He took a light set that Blackhearted was trying to sell, made some slight changes, and offered it as a freebie. His argument was that a collection dial settings was not copyrightable, and I think he didn't take to the idea that such a thing was a merchantable commodity.
The site admin thought differently and booted him for copyright infringement. He then attempted a comeback using a different username, and got the boot the second time.
He did run a site offering a large amount of textures and transparencies for the standard Posette clothes. When he left the scene he took all this with him. (I believe he was offered a home for them elsewhere, but declined.)
This is how I remember this particular episode.

Pity. A closing statement on that episode might be David's lament for King Saul: "...Oh, how have the mighty fallen!"

Incidentally, notice what can happen when you resurrect very old threads for unrelated reasons. dphoadley restored this one because it happened to mention Eve. But elizabyte has posted a response to the original poster without noticing that the OP's question was asked five years ago! The OP (who I see is still active here), I'm sure, is no longer in need of an answer.

while I dont have an opinion either way on reviving dead threads..I must admit I didn't realise this one was 5 years old till seeing the comment "if you really want Victoria, that a version 2 of her is soon to be released"
maybe Rosity could put a lock on year old threads the way they do at CGTalk?
Phantast posted Fri, 12 May 2006 at 6:49 PM
I don't think it's worth worrying about. There will be very few times that anyone would bother resurrecting such an old thread as this. I like the fact that actually one can, as there might occasionally be times when there are genuine reasons for doing so - though this wasn't one of them.
