If it has, delete this thread. It's a free ...uh...critter (dinosaur?) from Daz. It costs $11+, but if you go to the forum, you get a coupon for that much off...so it's sorta free. For folks who have an ArtZone account, if you do. I think it's there until about the 22nd...

ok, commercial over...but hey, it's free...;)

Daz omitted the info in the newsletter they put out.

BTW, if yo ualso poke around in the dragonwrold group, and look in th e"here be dragons" folder, you'll find a sneak preview thread with coming soon dragonworld items.. ;)

Click "Join Group"

Then scroll down to the list of forum topics.  Click on "Freebie Launch" and you get this page that contains the code:

Join a group for a freebie? I don't think so! Don't want to join AZ anyway and sure not all kinds of groups within it. I don't need Dragons and the like anyway, I've got loads of them in my runtime already. Shame that all DAZ is able to offer these days is more of the same I've got too much off already. DAZ has surely lost it's touch and innovative drive, it's all mass market stuff these days, nothing new, nothing special, only more of the same old stuff just looking slightly different.

There are some many 'eras' in history untouched by poser content, it's a shame that most stores and content creators just 'duplicate' what's already been offered a good number of times. Do we really need dragon #32? Do we really need spacehip #64? Do we really need elven/faeiry #128? Do we really need scifi outfit/fantasy outfit #256? Do we really need gun #512? Do we really need sexy dress #1024?

I guess most people do, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who love to see something really new, not the same old in a slighlty different way again.

Still a dragon..... funny and a bit more toony-like then most, but still not something that hasn't been done before. ( Btw.... nothing personal, I really like a lot of your stuff and own a good deal of it, some of it like deadcorn is very original ). Seems like these days (for a long time already) we mainly see variations on items that have been done before.... extensively. Once in a while something original is released, but most has been done before, while so many things could be created that would be very original and new, but I guess the audience is not willing to pay for it and only wants more of the same.

Thing is, A**eilkema everything really worthwhile has been done before in one form or another.

Cavemen? done. Egyptians? done. Mayans? Done.  Armor? Done. cars? done. planes? done. Boats? done. Buildings? done. Bunnies? Done. deer? done. Fish? done.

So YOU come up with a big popular theme with a lot of items that hasn't been done to death already. Better yet, how about naming a few? it's easier to complain about something released, then to come up with the ideas yourself.

Daz PAs begged daz to revive dragonworld, because many of us like the associated fantasy elements. Blame us, not Daz.. and blame the poser buying community, because they want more. maybe not YOU, but the huge number of interested customers.

And thanks, Acadia!

You have a fantastic amout of talent and enthusiasim.
You create wonderful PoserDs Content Items.

I have to wonder just why you feel so compelled to jump all over everyone that doesn't share your views lately.

Yes, this is a fantastic Toony Type Dragon.
Would I buy it, No.
Why, probably because I do not share your love of Toony Dragons.

Hope you all do well with you revitalized Dragon World.

I'm not, DR... but I also notice that new theme launch ideas haven't surfaced here either.

The way I see it, we can work to make things better for everyone, or we can just do the usual poserverse infighting, that just distances everyone.

I'd rather be part of the solution then part of the problem, and I'd hope most poserverse members would be of like mind.

Just a thought here.
Have you ever considered that after so many thoughts and suggestions, and all we see is more, more, more v4, people give up asking.

These days if it isn't v4 or av, it will not see enough to make any money.
Ever heard that before?

I have asked many times about Sports Themes.
Horse Racing
Track
Silks
Jockey clothing.

Baseball
Baseball Stadium
Bleachers and Field.

Auto Racing
Tracks, cars and clothing

IMHO, after awhile potential customers just give up.
The Merchants create what they want.
Customers either like and buy or pass.

Seems like customers these days mustwantdemand something new every week or so to support their 3D Habit.
I think your newest is a high end product.
I would also guess a week or two after it's release it will be yesterdays' news.
Look at SM's latest SOTM, a week after it's release and now very little mention of it.
How many "Diffent Points of View" Renders have you even seen of SOTM?

The stores push push push for new merchandise so fast these days, no one actually spends the time to experiment and fully utilize the products.
There is a Thread, Realistic Renders.
Myself and a few others posted some Catharina M2 Renders.
What was the response, These are nice, will she make them for M3?????
She has one for V3 Free, response, how about v4???????

*So YOU come up with a big popular theme with a lot of items that hasn't been done to death already. Better yet, how about naming a few? it's easier to complain about something released, then to come up with the ideas yourself.

*Why would I? I've asked for quite some themes in the past, I'm not going to do so again. Many have asked for different then the usual themes, but they never get it done either. It's all because of the word popular...... if it ain't popular (or for the 'girls'), no one will buy it, at least that's the response I (and may others) did get after making a request.

I'm not going to ask anything anymore, I'm tired of hearing the same old if it's not popular it will not sell. If someone is bringing something really different and new into the poser community, I generally buy (unless it's 'erotic' or 'sexy', that's not my cup of tea at all). If it's the same old in a different way again I'm just not buying anymore.

I've stopped visiting DAZ/ArtZone and resolved not to buy from them for a long time, only releasing the same old erotic, scifi or fantasy items is being releaded there over and over again. I'm keeping my eye on RuntimeDNA & CP (certain vedors selling there), once a while something worthwhile is being released there. Poserworld is still a great place for not too common stuff and once in a while something new appears here, but it's hard to trace between all of the same old releases.

At the moment the only thing I'm hoping for is an affordable historical accurate Roman Armor for M3 (common soldier and centurion), haven't been able to find a good one for him (EDIT: there's one at DAZ for M1 at an outrageous price, that why I added affordable). I'm suprised that the Roman Empire theme (and it's surrounding enemies and conquered nations) hasn't been touched more then it has. there's a lot missing still in that theme.

Here's an observation I've made during all these years. Often we see one side of the coin released. Take pirates/buccaneers.... you can them, loads of them, but pirates are only one side of the coin. Where's the clothes for the french, dutch and royal navy chasing them? You'll find some cool English ships for Poser, but how about a good selection of real buccaneer vessels, merchant vessels and some of the great Dutch, Spanish and French vessels ( and I don't mean cheaply converted De Espona models, but real posable stuff for Poser). I don't want pirates fighting pirates only...... Even within all of the popular themes it's all the same released over and over again and many aspects of the themes are left untouched. Most of the popular themes in poserdom are even far from complete.

Personally, I just don't like the toony dragon stuff either, but I do like to see DAZ revisiting some of their previous themes with a new eye.  Myself, I always liked the 'Airworld" stuff of Deadulus and such.  Very imaginative and interesting to me.  Seemed like they were going in a good direction with it, and they dropped it cold.

So it goes, I suppose.  I'll just sit on my money until something I'm interested in comes up again.  Other people like other stuff, so I'm not excited by stuff I have no interest in.  I do like to see Daz pushing something other than just MORE V4 blah-blah-blah.  That was a  bit brain-numbing to watch.

Now to watch "Jane and the Dragon". LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Truthfully in my eyes everything has been done or over done with Dragons. Same with pirates, robots, toony figures and animals.
Someone had mentioned period themes like Roman, I would go for that I could always use a chariot.  I would also like to see something along the lines of ancient architecture like Mayan, Mid East, India and China. These would be great to have.  And if planned right could coincide with release of Indiana Jones 4
