Thanks for entering I think you will get more out of the challenges if you shoot for the challenge.  Instead of just sitting at your computer looking through archives for something to post.  Your photo is great!  Just the kind of photo I had in mind when I was thinking about setting this challenge.

2º Entry. I post this one some time ago, and I love it's reflections, it's from Sotogrande, very near Gibraltar. It's a quiet area based around a wonderful marina. Buildings have such cheerful colours! Have a nice day, Elizabeth ;O)

I uploaded my first entry for this challenge more than one week ago, just before my holidays :

When I came back, I saw that many great pictures featuring reflections in very diversified and creative ways have been added to the thread but none of the uploaded pictures received one comment...

So, it really looks like this challenge is more becoming a group gallery with a specific topic... instead of a forum of exchanges, advices, critics,....

In fact I received just one comment from Paul  http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/browse.php?username=Dynazty)... via site mail !
So, especially for him, I decided to upload the picture in my gallery ! (see link)

And now, in a few minutes, I already got many comments....😕

Sunny day here today, so took family to Whitton Park in Blackburn. Luckily the park has a lily pond so I got my reflection picture. It's not the bestest reflection picture in the world, but I like it...and at least the forum challenge is in the can.

Thanks Fred255. There are some really beautiful images so far. I particularly like the boat by jeroni, and the tree on the beach by BorisB.

Meowgli posted Wed, 14 May 2008 at 1:18 PM

really great entries liking these, if I had to narrow it to 3 favourites so far I'd go with the sun reflected under the branch by BorisB, Tunde's tilted reflection with a lensbaby and Elizabeth's 'mr Snail' but I think altogether some nice work. water seems to be featuring quite highly, though i'm not one to talk having entered 2 myself..!

Guess who just got a new lens ;)  I took this with posting it in here in mind... thought it would be a fun shot to show... notice that you can actually see my hand (and feet!) on the bottom left =S ... have to be careful with this lens! (Oh it is a 8mm Fisheye if you were wondering - should give a full circle image on a full frame without any of the cropping you see here - shame i dont have a 5D then!)

Water is always a great reflection method - landscapes take on another dimension whenever you have water involved.  And yes - great shot there Boris, had to be there at the right time of day i suppose - would love to find a scene like that around where i am - sadly no lakes for me.

Yes Michel, you are correct that there should be a bit more interaction in this sort of challenge - however, it is always - such as your image - something to get people inspired to try things.  If you look at the number of views / number of posts in the thread it just shows you how many people look at these images and some of them will go away thinking about photography in a different way.  That is surely a good thing - even if we dont know how many have done so.

Good effect,  is that a Canon lens or Sigma?

 ecurb - The Devil

inshaala posted Wed, 14 May 2008 at 7:04 PM

Tis the Sigma f/3.5.  I've stopped really considering canon lenses until i need the L glass (when/if i go full frame probably) - I've had a good run with sigma lenses.

Here's another from yesterday - and that river bank is pretty straight in real life... (the uncropped version sees the near riverbank - but i liked the uncluttered/"unframed" view of the far riverbank which came from it.)

Love the sky reflected in the marina alhak. J M W  Turner would have loved to have painted a sky like that. Was this shot taken in the evening? Next time I go home to Dundee, I'll have to stop by St Andrews and get my pool shot of the castle, it seems to be obligatory.

Here's a second offering. Went to Blackpool and Cleveleys today. Here's a shot of the tower reflected in a tidal pool. Enjoying the challenge, find myself looking for reflections everywhere, would love to get a glass building refelection shot of the sky. Might have to go to Manchester or Liverpool for that, or maybe a night shot of a lit cityscape reflected in river/sea.

Monet gardens in Giverny, France, the famous japanese bridge with its glycine in blossom. Next to it, there's an interesting American Impressionnist museum. French people did'nt appreciate the Monet paintings as they didn't understand his impressionism way of painting. Monet was first recognized by Americans.

Hello my friends !

Lack of time these days because I'm fully involved in my exhibition at the "Carrousel du Louvre" in Paris that will attend on the 6th of June !
Nevertheless I spend time to look at your work each day with much interest. Unfortunately I have not enough time to put comment on it.

This challeng is a so good idea and I can miss it because it is one of my most favorite thema.

I look forward to be with you again early in June.

Have a nice week all!
