i have 1800 objects and 5.800000 polygons in that render. i had before also some small artefacts like 5 pieces, but now the number increased, so i cant repair it anymore with photoshop. it happens always in final mode, if i switch on the lens glare than they get big black holes. do anybody know why  this happens, and how to avoid it? click on pic.

Yes, I have had this & for the life of me I can't find the thread at EON tech support where they replied to my question about this very thing(I hate the search function there).

Was the above items saved in V5/V5I by any chance?  I've only had this happen when I've used various items(not all) that I had saved as .vobs back in those days.  If I imported the item fresh as an OBJ/PZ3/3DS etc the problem disappeared.

Edit to add a pic & to note on this particular items the highlights were white & at 100% for all but 1 which had a green highlight.  This items was saved in V5I as a .vob

Dang I wish I could find EONS reply & I can't remember what they said either :(

Ooh - I had this happen with Flinks Flowers.  I contacted Flink about it and we worked out that I was using vobs that I'd imported and saved in Vue 5.   I re imported the original obj files in Vue 6 and it cured the problem and they now render perfectly

I had this happen once a while ago but don't remember what the fix was... Sorry...
Nice work though!

Try adjusting the highlights, sometimes, it's the way highlights work

i.e. change slider for anisotropic highlights to the other end of scale :)

all items were 3ds and obj before. i stored them as vue vob files, and imported in that scene.
you mean that, if they stay original files than this problem doesent happen?

its also starange that i just had a few artefacts before, and the number rised up with the new objects i brought into. they are all converted into vob objects.

Just various ones saved in V5I - not all of them by any means.

Tried silverblades suggestion to no avail - thanks for the suggestion.  No big deal though can re-import.

well, when I had that problem, it was a specific material that caused it, in that case, a wooden plank material (texture based)

great image...might try rendering separate layer passes? ...background...foreground...midground...AO ...diffuse...etc....

in my render it seems to be the glow material on several light emitting surfaces. if i switch out the glow, i get less artefacts, but they dont disappair.

I've had this happen as well, with a freshly upgraded Vue 6 xStream, and it is due to certain materials.

I suggest that you start taking a closer look at the procedural materials you have in your render and replace them if possible.
In my case, I had to replace every single material and then still do the render in sections to avoid the black dots from appearing.

Hope this helps and good luck :)
