Hello,
I have heard alot about Daz Studio but haven't really checked it out until now. I am just wondering what people use it for? Is it a competitor of Poser? Also, when looking at my own workflow, can I make an animation (or pose a figure) and import it into Cararra 6 Pro or Vue 6 Infinite? I saw there is now an animation plugin for DAZ Studio so that is why I ask about animations. And I am assuming all the figures on Daz 3D are compatible with DAZ Studio right?
Thanks for your thoughts

Hi
Yes DAZ3D is a great 3D graphics design program.
I like it better than Poser. Because it is more user
friendly. Animations are fairly easy just takes a little
manipulation, I use it mostly for graphic design.
99% of what’s in the DAZ store is compatible with studio.

Studio's functionality can be easily extended upon with freebie scripts and shaders and also by purchasing plugins. It's my rendering program of choice as well!!

Sounds like I should definitely give it a try. Thanks for the replies.
How about an animation done in DAZ studio and exporting into Vue 6 Infinite (or Carrara 6 pro)?
Thanks

Sorry, I don't use Vue and don't do much animation at all!

I'm not sure about animation, I think you need to buy a plugin for that?
As for exporting into Vue... just export it as an obj file and then import the obj into Vue. Works fine.

DAZ Studio is great !! but if use plan to make animations i would advice you to keep poser . Main problem with DAZ Studio is not yet ready one click solution if you want bring out anything you create in DAZ to another software
Except you have bigboys 3d like maya , max , cinema , etc You can export everything with collada plugins ( free ) . But for Carara and Vue i suggest you to port via poser
Meanwhile DAZ studio is great and quick for making pose or serial pose ( if you want to animate them ) than poser . Interface & loading anything unbeaten especially if you have jumbo runtimes .
Here scenario if you want to using DAZ for making some digital animations .
Pose + pupeteer your scene in DAZ Studio , after that , export via bvh and reimport bvh file format in poser ( you should load exact figure like you use in DAZ Studio ) . save file . Import in Vue or carara
