OK , I mentioned before some ideas of rebirthing the Renderwars, and in that I have been preparing my army..the first in the Insectoids will be the front line soilder..the Soilder Ant.

What are Insectoids, well they are an alien mechanized race..here to conquer all. More will be revealed as I progress.

just need to finish some detail on the rigging, and get the joints worling right, and then to perfect the texture (I used some byyce mats in this image)

What is "Renderwars" , please ?

Renderwars were a fun little forum game.
Basically you would create your army, it could be anything, i think some of the ones we had floating around were  Hobbits, XENA, Rabbits..the list went on.

The idea was simple..all main components of your army were made up of commonly available, mostly free figures, you would render a scene of YOUR army attacking somone else, write a quick paragraph up depicting the event and post. That would result in a counter attack , and this went on. You could never really kill off your oponent , but it was always fun just to constantly come up with more ways to hurt your eneimies..Hobbit catapults anyone?

There is a little interest in this fun, It used to be so popular it had its own forum here at Renderosity back in the old days. Anyway , I was going to try and start it up again here in the Poser forums. Just still working on the ground rules (ie what can constitute an army.)

You want to allow anyone who wants to participate in, so the idea is to use the base figures or widely supported figures, that MOST users have access to for little or no cost (FREE is always best). Anything that DEFINES your army MUST be a freebie. So for my army I am making the Insectoids and going to put them up for free. What defines your army is up to you, but it does open some creativity to see what we can ge aside a bunch of scantly clad V3/4's. It could be a concept..ie (ANIME, Fuzzy Bunnies, etc) or it could be a specific singular character (XENA). If its a singular char, the morphs, textures, must be freebies or widely available so that anyone who has Poser should easily be able to recreate your ARMY.
