Well... the grail-connection couldn´t be avoided, could it? At least every reference to a Monty Python movie is a good reference

I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound

I misread this 1st time and thought it said "turned into the.."

OTOH, I'm not so sure I'm not onto something here: Look at those teeth and eyes! (BTW, whoTF is Zut?? Tut(enkhamun) I know but..)
