Like the title says. Last week was a rough one, didn't get online except to let the staff know a virus had me in it's grip. Still recovering and catching up, won't be around much this week either. For those of you that site mailed me, I'll get to them when I can, sorry for the delay. Please direct your questions to the other Photo staff team members for the rest of the week. Hopefully I'll be back up to speed next week. ~Kort

That is possibly the best advice for any kind of illness... as long as the "drink" is water ;)
Get well soon Kort :)

Remember that vodka can kill also a virus Kort, if you're taking antibiotics remember to take probiotics as well.

Nope, no antibiotics. Doesn't work on viruses. Maybe the vodka will though... ;'] Thanks for the well wishes everyone, continuing to get better. Hope to be more active next week.

A friend of mine got real sick once and his (Russian) mother-in-law gave him this weird medicine that had a skull or sumptin on it. He took it, fell asleep and woke up the next day all better.

Wish I had that stuff! I'm pretty much recovered, just playing catch up. One side effect from the virus is that my lungs are shot. I hope that things improve as I don't have a whole heck of a lot of lung capacity right now... Thanks again for the happy thoughts. :o)

Eat some un-pasteurized buckwheat honey. It's the healthiest honey there is with lots of anti-oxidants.

I make honey/cinnamon teas that are really good for killing off bugs. If I were brave I'd add some raw garlic too! ;'] I get my anti-oxidants from dark chocolate, lol. I also bee propolis that might help...

Glad your better, Kort! I was sick that same week too...... only mine was food poisoning! I lost 6 lbs in 2 days! Talk about drinking water.... that was about all I could do, that and saltines. Even chocolate was unappealing that week..... now you know I had to be sick!!! LOL :P
Take care, I heard something going around that re-occured over and over again, One of my friends has been sick since the beginning of the year! Yikes!

Slacker - suck it up, Nancy! ;-)
Glad you're feeling better - you can tell how often I get to the forums, huh? Missed the whole thing while you were in the muck!
"...only mine was food poisoning!"
This is the only time my wife is envious of my whopper of an acid problem (love the Prilosec commercials, BTW - "does this happen once or twice a week" - WUSS!! Try 3-4 times a DAY!! Always good for a chuckle) - by 2pm I'm eating solid foods and just fine while she's out for the next few days.

Must be something in the air...or the food.
Sorry to hear about your food poisoning Nancy, I know how awful that can be too from personal experience. I hope your friend eventually recovers too! :o)

The phrase "suck it up" has just plain stuck with me - woke up one morning 4 years ago with a huge pain in my abdomen - thought I'd badly pulled a groin muscle or something. Really bad, and told my wife I was gonna go to the hospital/emergency room.
This REALLY hurt, and my wife (who wanted me to go to work) looks at me and grumpily says, "Just suck it up!"
That afternoon I was prepped for surgery and had an appendectemy - it was about to burst.
Bentchick - don't worry - I wasn't calling YOU a wuss - just the announcement in the commercial for Prilosec. And a little OT - if my wife found chocolate unappealing I'd know it was the end of the world - that sucks! Sorry!
-Lew ;-)

:b_funny: Lew, glad they caught your condition in time, my wife's burst and it was nearly fatal. Mmmmmmm, chocolate....

Oh God that's septic!
Bet she had antibiotics with every meal!
According to my wife, I can be replaced (at least for a short time) by chocolate...
bentchick posted Wed, 28 May 2008 at 9:24 AM
Hi Lew, I'm Kim! I knew you weren't calling me a wuss. I don't get television, so I'm not up on commercials.
Appendicitis is a scarey thing, I've heard of several cases where people have lost friends and loved ones to it. Good for you for not "sucking it up" and going to work, or you probably wouldn't be here now.
As for chocolate..... I'm one of the weird ones who can take it or leave it, but at least I'm not allergic to it like one of my friends. My husband, on the other hand, thinks chocolate is one of the four food groups!!! LOL :P

You must not have had really good chocolate then. That is the only sane reason I can come up with...heheheh.
