Good Morning all!
Im wondering If anyone has ever brought the default characters from poser 6 or 5 into poser 7? Im particualrly interested in James from poser 6, as I really like his look. Is it a simple matter of getting an old copy of poser 6 and transferring the files manually?

Poser 7 will recognize any Runtime and can use older figures. Simply point Poser 7 to your Poser 6 Runtime. In your content browser, go to the highest directory where there's a folder labled Poser 7. Click the plus sign and load the Poser 5 or 6 Runtime.

The Poser 6 people, including James 1, are part of the Poser 7 content. You can download the P6 content from Smith Micro (you'll have to provide your Poser 7 registration number). No need to buy Poser 6.
Same goes for the Poser 4 and Poser 5 content.

HELP!!!Hi guys:
I have a problem. I’m running poser 7 and I need to reinstall my OS. Naturally, I will have to reinstall Poser once the OS wipes out the old data for the new. However, I have a TON of stuff in my Runtime library that I need to keep. My question is, is there away to reinstall Poser and keep the old Retime library?
Thanks, Scorpius--

As long as the new OS doesn't format your HD there is no problem. Just install Poser again and use the basic installation feature. This saves time. Poser will not affect the installed content.
When your OS wil format the HD, just save the content on an external HD or on DVD.

Yes. It's called. Making a backup copy. If you have a second drive you can copy the entire runtime to the new driver before reinstalling a new OS. Or you can back up the runtime to a Burnable CD or DVD with Burning software and restore the runtime from that after the OS reinstall.
Making backup copies of data is a reccommended habit to develop when you have any kind of data on computers that you wish to maintain.

No matter where you install Poser. You can direkt your Poser to external Runtimes or reinstall into that Runtime.
