Hi -  I have Vue pro studio (upgraded from within Esprit) installed on XP home edition 32 bit .  There are 5 computers on the home network all with the same OS.  The processors are all single core or hyperthreaded at most.   The video cards are integrated except for one with an ATI radeon express card.  The performance is tolerable but I have an itch to buy at least one machine with current technology. 

I am in no rush to buy a new machine except that XP is going to expire soon.  Given that some people consider XP to be superior to Vista, I wonder should I get a Core 2 Quad processor with XP (home or pro?) or Vista?  The idea behind going with XP would be to avoid Vista and wait for  Windows 7.

Would Vue ProStudio/Esprit (or Poser 7 for that matter) benefit from from the latest Intel processors anyway?
