I resisted Victoria 4 and then got to checking out what's being done with it since its release and finally jumped in.

Wow.  They really did some good things with the face morphs...  I used to always end up with noses that had funny, pinched areas I wasn't thrilled with and not just is the nose more customizeable, but it really resists becoming a disaster much better

Okay...  So I see that you're supposed to be able to use V4's head on V3's body -- which would be great for all the reasons I imagine made them include that function in the first place.  I can still use so much of my old stuff.

But how do I do that?  I tried to select a "V4 to V3" body, and when that failed created a V3 SAE body and tried to convert it with the V4 to V3 button.  In both instances I was asked to locate "V4toV3BODYGrps.pz2" which seems like it might exist in the P5>Runtime>Libraries>!DAZ>V4to V3 folder.  In fact there is a "BODY" folder but the Grps file (and what is that, btw?) is named "00-ps_pe070inj_Grps.pz2" instead.  Having directed Poser to it, regardless, I'm now asked for the hip file, which has the same non-conformity of file name...  Followed, I see, by the "Chnnls" file.

So I'll go through with the procedure, but it seems very long to do repeatedly.  Is this the way it should be going?  Are there known issues with V4.2 and P5?

And maybe most imoprtantly is there a good tutorial for V4 use in Poser?

Thanks,

Ensure that the !DAZ folder with the ChanVis, ...,  is in your main runtime.

Not sure what "ChanVis" is but the folder in which all the relevant files are located is definitely in the primary Runtime where the Poser app lives...

But Poser is looking for files with the wrong file names.  That can't be good.  The app certainly doesn't seem smart enough to make context-appropriate changes on the fly.

For the record, I'm still directing the program to the V4toV3 files by hand.  Endless...

u shouldn't need to do any directing. something is wrong.
well as to your first question - there is a v4 0n v3 figure somewhere in the same folder as the V4 figure. It can wear same clothes but the body doesn't morph so it is that kind of widefigured V3 that doesn't look that great.

The body doesn't morph!?

Oh... well, never mind then.

In the end I was asked to locate some files I simply couldn't find.

Thanks for explaining its functionality, estherau.
