I downloaded them and love them. I also had the dark areas but touched them up. Made mine transparent and have them on Renderosity Poser Gallery.

Nice render! The black spots might be the dreaded "degenerate facets", try opening them in UV Mapper, and hitting the insert key. If if fixes them just resave the object.

Thanks for the tip. Appreciate it. It really didn't bother me about the dark areas. They were small and so easy to fix.

What is the link to these? THANKS!

Do a search in the Renderosity poser free stuff section for "wings" or "darkworld" and youll find them. Theyre called "Archangel Wings". Theyre quite bland and plastic-like without a proper bump/texture/transparency map. You can make them in photoshop yourself -- maybe Ill release mine after some more tweaking.

UVMapper by Steve Cox is an essential tool for altering the layout of UV coordinates (which are used for texture mapping) on any .obj file. You can also use it to create templates and to add, change, or delete surface materials, and a bunch of other handy stuff. Steve generously provides it as a free download. www.uvmapper.comJim Burton posted Tue, 17 April 2001 at 12:18 PM
Steve also seems to be one of the few that actually understand degenerate facets, I sure don't! Sometimes I can see what I did wrong in the model, and fix it in Max, othertimes UVMapper is a lifesaver. My hat is off to Steve for providing such a great utility.
