I have been looking for a Vase that would fit into a Greek setting.  The closest I found was this one:

But the person is no longer a vendor here, and the Vase in that package is .cob

Can someone make something similar for Poser, or even just an .obj file? 

If it could be mapped in such a way that there is more than one material zone to work with, that would be wonderful.

Actually, I did some more searching and I can use the Greek Bath from Daz. The vase in there will work perfectly.

However, if there are still any bored modelers looking for something to make....a vase similar to the above one would be most appreciated :)

Acadia can the grapes and leaves...be textured on? Or would you need them modeled too?

No, it's not the vase you were looking for.  But, I just got Hex 2.5 and wanted to see how fast I could model an amphora.  No classical Greek setting is complete without one!  They're the medium of trade of the ancient world!  In ancient Greece, you can't ship dry goods, liquids, wines, really shiny rocks or very, very small people without them!  :)

So, 10 minutes in Hex counting a very, very strange reaction to the scaling tool which forced a crash and complete reload gets you a low-poly amphora suitable for background objects on a dock, in a food prep area, in a wagon, on a bus.. uh, mule.. whatever. :)

Enjoy!  Or, if you don't want it, thanks for giving me yet another reason for me to delve into Hex.

(Note, it's not UV mapped because I didn't think it was worth it.  A simple spec color (tan/brown) would do for background work, IMO.

Sorry, I didn't include a plug with the above amphora.  Plugs were commonly made of beeswax, low-fired clay, leather, tar, etc.. depending upon the material being shipped.  So, here's an amphora and a plug to go with it.  (You can drop the plug down into the amphora, give it another color, maybe a bump map and it becomes the "contents" of the amphora in a low-poly background image.

Thanks! But, the answer is because they only took me a few minutes and were the first objects I ever exported in Hexagon after just getting it this weekend. :)

But, if I get the chance, I'll model some better ones, perhaps even the vase in the OP, and see if anyone thinks they're good enough.  (Myself, most importantly.)  One thing I've been doing in order to learn is looking at "gee, I'd like to have one of these!" requests on various forums and then trying to model whatever it happens to be.  It gives me a good degree of randomness so I get exposed to more unique situations.

PS - It'd probably help immensely if I read the manual or watched all the tutorials... But, where's the fun in that? :)

It sometimes happens that someone will ask about a model and suddenly , instead of no models of it , you have half a dozen ...    :)

The nice thing about free stuff is that people will grab it , even if they have no use for it yet , scene fillers are always nice to have .

www.sharecg.com  is a nice place to post freestuff. Its a free file host , and people can search it for stuff.  You need to register but its free .

Seems I was not the only one looking for a Greek vase :)

Vases and plants are 2 great ways to fill up a scene and give some life to it.   Another is table clutter like magazines, coffee coasters, ornate bowls, lamps, decorative keepsake boxes, books etc.

I nee a special piece of clothing for Victoria 4 to wear over the Bodysuit from Daz: A belt with four stripes of cloth hanging from it at the sides, front and back. I need that for a character and I'd love it to bee free, so I can give that character away without causing too much costs to the others who want to use it.
