Ever since I saw Craft Animation's software (you can see what I'm talking about here http://www.craftanimations.com/go/Tell-me-about/Things%20on%20wheels/ ), I've been wishing I could afford it. That, and Max and all the other plug-ins out there. But then I started thinking about whether this would be possible in Blender.
Basically, all the craft software is doing is controlling a vehicle and recording keyframes. I know you can control vehicles in the game engine (something I haven't tried yet), and I've recorded to IPO's when running rigid body sims.
So, is it possible to do both together in Blender?
I was thinking the workflow could go like this:
-Model vehicle and environment (high-poly and low-poly proxy) and setup for game engine.
-Drive around and record to IPO
-Apply data to full resolution model and render.
I've only been using Blender for a little while, and I don't know a lot yet, so I don't know how to do these things, but maybe it's also possible to:
-Run rigid body and other simulations to the keyframed data. Does the game engine allow realistic suspension movement in real-time?
-Use a wheel and joystick instead of keyboard for increased control.
-Slow timerate in game engine when recording difficult movements.
So what do you think? Or has this already been done and I just completely missed that tutorial? haha.

I don't think the BGE has what you've described. It seems that the keyboard is the only way to go, though I'm no expert on this. However, it might be possible to record with Max or Maya (if available) and export the animation to Blender.
It's funny, though, because I just did an article on the Craft Airplane plug-in. Too bad it's so expensive
It is better to do one thing well, than to do many things and excel at nothing.

I think thats a great ideer, if it isnt possible in blender it should surely be added.
Why dont you submit this ideer to the developpers forum If its already in blender you will hear it if not They can work on it.
