Hello,

I was wondering what you guys use for texturing 3D models in real time, I know of DeepPain3D and BodyPaint, which one is better to work with poser ( I looked in their sites but didnt find any specific plugin). Are there others?

Most of the time Photoshop is all I need but I'd like to give direct 3D texturing a try. I want to know which one integrates better with poser first.  I'd apreaciate any feedback

Thank you.

I'm using BodyPaint. No need to have a special Poser-plugin. Just load the object (OBJ-File from geometry-folder) you want to texture and start painting :)

After you're done, you simply save the textures as JPG or PSD or whatever and you are able to use this texturemaps in Poser.

Free plugins are available for BodyPaint/Cinema4D to import scenes saved with Poser (limited material support).
If you own Poser-Pro, complete Poserfiles may be loaded into BodyPaint/Cinema4D out of the box.

Just note that if you're used to working in Photoshop for textures, you will initially find Bodypaint very clumsy to use. It doesn't exactly have a whole lot of options for 2D image editing like Photoshop does. But the nice part is that it supports .PSD files quite well so you will often be moving your textures back and forth between the 2 apps.

In fact if i'm in a hurry, i will do most of initial layout and copypasta inside Photoshop itself. Then you import this into bodypaint and fix any seams or other fine work you need to do.

Thank you for the help =) that's very useful. And yes, it is seams problems that make me want to try this. I'll give BodyPaint a try.

Importing the original Obj from the Geometries folder means I'll have to manually set all the textures (I'm thinking V3 >.<) that's why I was thinking about a plugin to load either poser scenes or something, but I dont have Poser Pro.

I'll see if I can find those free plugins around.

Ask Google :)

Look for "riptide" to start with. Fast and free :)
Another one is "interposer". A limited free version is available. Should be enough for a start. The "Pro" version is nearly a replacement for Poser :)
