I had to go to Smith Micro to get a copy of Stuffit Expander. It is free, but by the time you have a download link, your day is beginning to feel like a tour of shysterville. You can't even say no to getting put on a mailing list (though they promise you'll be told how to unsubscribe). Be careful.

Not being on a MAC I don't know much about Stuffit Expander but a quick Google search showed that Smith Micro owns the product. You can, however, download it here ->

without all the SM drama.

And they now charge for the once free Linux version!

I did get that "Shysterville" feeling from their website while there recently. I sure hope they don't end up leaning that way. Vendors who sell legit merchandise should never have to resort to dirty little tricks with mailing lists, etc...

I am pro-Smith Micro, just to allay any fears. but stuffit is no longer needed IMVHO,
especially for OS X.

I thought Alladinsoft made stuffit, but I could be wrong. I have a PC, so I'm not qualified...;)
I'd Google stuffit to see. There's always 3rd party versions of most things out there.

OSX gets zip files and .tar.gz natively (along with many others). Otherwise, the apple links works far better.

Aladdin became Allume which was purchased by Smith Micro.
