I uploaded an item to ShareCG this morning, and then noticed my
computer was thrashing like crazy, and the internet connection running
full speed. The ShareCG page then repeated itself in several
columns, continuing to pile up more "slices".
Anyone else brave enough to try it and see what happens? I don't
know if ShareCG is virused, or my computer is somehow allergic to it.

Okay, thanks.
Must have been a glitch, maybe caused by one of ShareCG's ad links.

I put up a Wings tutorial last week on ShareCG, then tried to create a link in tutorials here. Not only was it not approved, it vanished...;) only weirdness I've seen...;)
Aside from that, everything's downloading ok...

Apparently the problem is real. There's a long thread on the topic
in the Freestuff forum, which I didn't see before posting here!
Just viewing ShareCG doesn't cause the problem, but downloading does.

ahh, I dont often download , and I close the window as soon as the download starts .

Installing an adblocker or disabling Java will stop the memory eating loop.

The only thing I've noticed on that site lately is far too much forced ads which slows me down and I'm on cable speed. I feel like Im dialup when I go there lol.
For me myself and I, I hate the animation they got running for ads. Why do they do it? Do they make that much money off sidebar crappy ads to slow down the entire site just to run a forced ad no one looks at? That site is a mess.
*eyeroll.

I don't see any ads at all, but then I use FF with adblock, it's great.

@Anniebel: Thanks for that suggestion! I've been using Firefox for a while
but didn't know about Adblock. Installed it, and the problem is gone!

Adblock Plus: blocks banner ads and other images.
NoScript: blocks Javascript, which comes in very handy.
FlashBlock: blocks annoying Flash ads, like the ones seen all over Yahoo.

I'm using IE7Pro for IE. It does all of the above.

Did you happen to accidentally block an image hosted on Photobucket? If you did, AdBlock will block all images coming from that domain.

Well this is very strange but it works again.
The complete photobucket page was replaced by some addpage for webhosting.
I removed adblocker and tryed again...still the same.
I tryed IE...still the same.
I reinstaled adblocker..no joy.
I just tryed to reach photobucket...and it works again
It looks that they had a temporary hostile takeover from some add company.
Strange.....very strange.
