Subject: close ground problem

well, I have this problem a lot, but on one of my last renders it really was a pain... I render the whole scene, no problem, but then looking good, one of the rocks has this terribly ugly texture, all the rocks are fine but this one is like you can see the polygons on it, now I tried somethings but It keeps getting worse! someone who can tell me how I can make that little rock look good? (on the picture, it's the right rock below)

Is it part of the terrain, or a seperate rock??

I use displacement for individual rocks, if it's the terrain I use a procedural.

I'm sure the experts will be along soon to offer better advice than I can!!

it's a procedural 1024x1024... I wanted to send this one in to get a office where I could make pictures and open up a little gallery somewhere but this was really annoying (I didn't get the office, yet ;))

Sometimes I've had similar probs when the texture is the wrong scale, might try adjusting that maybe!
Hopefully someone else will chip in with a better answer, I'm far from an expert, sorry!!

yea, I did that, turned out even worse, imagine that picture but burnt down XD not nice! and I'm not an expert, but I want to become one ;)

minimise your texture,or change it to object parametric...if all else fails go to geekatplay.com..they have a toot one close sumthin or other to the camera which is what you need(;

When you load a texture map, it sometimes needs an interpolation method in order to smooth things out. Try this...

Go into the function editor and highlight the square that has your image in it. In the window that comes up, you will see 'interpolation' on the right. Choose bilinear or bicubic. See if that doesn't help a bit.

But like Trepz and fixer say, scale can also be a major factor...
