Subject: Got Dance Studio?

I have converted one of the MetaCreations Dance Studio characters to Poser. I have encoded it with Maz's OBJActionMover, and it works pretty well. I need help with writing the read me file. When the read me is done, I can release my work on this. Here is what I have for the readme. Any help will be appreciated. Files included: Mick.jpg Mick.pcf Mick.cr2 Mick.rsr Mick.txt (this file) This is an OBJaction Mover (available at http://www.sandylodge.demon.co.uk/ in the Utilities section) encoded Poser version of one of the characters that come with MetaCreations Dance Studio. If you don't have the program, this file is useless to you. You can probably find Dance Studio through http://shopping.yahoo.com/ Run a search for Dance Studio. With OBJaction Mover, decode Mick.pcf using rc_hi.obj as the seed file. The file rc_hi.obj is in the Dance Studio directory under Dance StudioModelsrc The file rc_hi.obj may be set to Read Only. If it is, it will have to be changed. OBJAction Mover won't work with a Read Only file. In your RuntimeGeometries folder, create a new folder named DanceStudio. Spelling, spacing, and capital letters are important. Place the decoded file Mick.obj into this folder. Place the files Mick.cr2 and Mick.rsr into your choice of folders in your Runtimelibrariescharacter folder. The character is set up without texture maps, so you can set them as you wish, using the maps that are in Dance Studio, under Dance StudioModelsrc The original copyright of Dance Studio belongs to MetaCreations.

Cool!! How did you convert the characters. Did you it the hard way? Can't you encode the zip file with the folders. that way you won't have to tell people where do exactly to place the files. But don't pay too much attention to me. I am horible with technical writing. =:-) > Bsteph

Yeah, I did it the hard way, the old way. I am currently self employed for the first time in 21 years and can't afford the Pro Pack right now. I started using UVMapper (thanks Steve Cox) and RDS following Bushi's tutorials (thanks Bushi), but RDS messed up the mapping, so I used Poser and the grouping tool (thanks dcort for the tutorial)and Bushi's PhiFactory (thanks again, Bushi). The main thing I want help with in the readme is for the copyright and what to put in for redistribution.

I too used Propack to convert all 6 figures. Somewhere in the past message I posted sometime ago. good work.
