Hi,
Does anyone know where I can get an avatar from - A good avatar? Unfortunately, I don't know enough of Rhino to make a really impressive avatar. :( I'd have to start from the beginning, it's been so long. grumble
Thanks guys (and gals),
Mooch

avoid those free avatar sites. probly full of malware and copyright/trademark violations.
commission one of these artists to do an original one for ya.

I agree with Miss Nancy. We have the best artists around anyways, I'm sure someone will do one for you
What type or theme are you looking for?

Good question
I'm a regular at another forum. Can I do a shameless plug?
Anyway, its main focus, is shaving with either a safety razor or a straight razor. I use a safety razor.
So something that would blend in with that atmosphere.
Thanks for the heads up about the Free Avatar sites. I knew about the copyright infringement issue, but I had no idea about the malware.

I don't know if they have anything to with razors here but this is a fun site & the figures make cute avatars.. If you'd like to use one & don't have a program to resize it in, I'd be happy to do it for you..

Thanks for that advice. I probably spent more unproductive time there than I should have.
Not hat that is a new thing, but, thanks.

I'd have to pay him? S/he wouldn't do it out of the goodness of his/her heart?

if they won't do one for free, have somebody take a foto of yer face, then use that.
as ya become acquainted with the software they use here,
ye'll be able to do yer own avatar, something distinctive .....

How long would it take to achieve that level of proficiency? (I have dabbled in Rhino 3.0 a little, and TurboCAD.)
Thanks!

Damn I should have asked ya all to do my avatar for me.!
It's supposed to be animated, but I can't get it to work. :cursing:
Anyways,
Mooch I could make a very basic avatar in about two maybe three days time. When I first started with Poser.
Infact I find that avatars tend to be easier than most other renders.
Anyways, my current avatar, which is actually an animated one, took me oh about 15 minutes to do.
And well as we can see via my avatar wich does not work right, I am not exactly what I'd call "proficient" either.

Mooch, it takes approx. 6 months to achieve that level of proficiency
with the software they use here. YMMV.

no, I'd never kill ya. it would be a TOS violation. no, wait, there's nothing in the TOS about that.
but anyway, just stare at the spiral and think good thoughts.

The swirly thing reminds me of that one gilrs mom in hairspray, not the recent one, but the one with Rickki Lake.
She had a swirly thing like that!
