Hello everyone,
I was wondering if someone might be able to point me in the right direction.See I've misplaced my M3 no nose morph again, so I'm looking for a no nose morph for M3 again.
And can't remember where I'd found it at to start with.
Yours,
Daidalos

have you checked your backup area of your downloaded content?
Daidalos posted Sun, 20 July 2008 at 7:53 AM
I'm not sure what you are referring to thehalfdragon.
But I used to keep everything backed up on a second HD. But, that was on a different machine that got pretty much fried when my apartment flooded a few weeks back.

yeah, ISTR that, but all they got here is the v3 no-nose morph.
Daidalos posted Sun, 20 July 2008 at 10:06 PM
You know what I think you guys are right. Cause I've still got the one's vor V3 in my runtime.
Oh well, I thought for sure there was a no nose morph for m3 as well since there isn't a no nose morph for m3, this isn't going to work, so...... back to the mousepad then.
Thanks anyways guys.

I tried doing a no-nose morph on the dork head and it's very easy - you could try
it yerself in poser with m3. the only problem I encountered with the dork was that
it has two nostril plugs that I couldn't select in poser in any way. no way to select
vertices, no way to select material, no nothing. they were apparently hard-coded
into the dork head cr2 file (or obj file) somehow. I know they'll tell ya that poser
ain't a vertex-level modelling app, but that's not exactly true.

I could remove the nose myself in wings3d. I just don't know how to use a .obj as a morph in P5 though.
I'll just go ahead and redo the entire character.
Thanks for your assitance though guys!

after looking at khrys' V3 no-nostril morph, I can see that it would be impossible
to do that in poser. it would require a skilled 3d user with excellent vertex modelling
skills and a good vertex-modelling app. fortunately m3's nostril material zone is
selectable, thus allowing various operations to diminish it, even in poser.
daid, the way to apply an obj morph in poser 4 or later is to select the object
in poser, then load morph target, which will allow one to navigate to the obj
that was manipulated, provided said obj has the identical number of vertices
and the identical vertex order that the obj in poser has. however, distribution
of said morph targets has some restrictions, particularly in regard to daz models.

I see, so if I just took and loaded the m3 obj into a program like wings or something.
And then just basically took off his nose, the .obj wold no longer have the same number of vertices and the same vertex order. And thus would'nt work in poser right?
How do you make a morph like that then?

that's correct, daid. deletion of said vertices might cause head.obj to have no
nose in wings, but it would fail to load as morph target in poser, which can also
be used to make the nose invisible.
to make said morph, export head.obj from poser as morph target. import into wings.
then reverse the process they used to make the nose from a smooth surface.
I don't have wings, so if ya ask 'em how to do it in the wings forum, they will say
the above is wholly or partially wrong, but they may also tell ya how to do it right.

Yeah Ms. Nancy, thats the problem I had with using the dial morphs. The nostrils leave little flaps of skin there.
Anyways, thank you again for sharing your knowledge with me ladies and gentlemen.
I appreciate it tremendously, and will soon probably be making use of it.

no-nose/no-nostril M3 morph not available as free download at any of the poser sites AFAIK. see att. lnk fr no-nose/no-nostril morph. click nose pop-up below main window. not free, but $14 american is wayyyyyy cheaper than 3 hrs work IMVHO.
