We had a 5.7 about 25 miles from here, in Chino Hills.
I know there are a few californians around here Everyone okay?
Here I had a few pictures fall off the shelves, and one very scared dog. Kitties don't seem to be very rattled. Phone lines seem to be on overload.

I am in a manufacturing facility in Pacoima, about 35 miles from center; it rolled like a bad wave for 10 seconds here, no damage but a lot of shook up people. Just spoke to my son in Pasadena, a lot closer. He waid our house was shaking like mad but nothing broke.
That's my sixth medium or better shake. It's always the same when it starts....you instantly wonder "won't this just sway a little and stop...or......is this the Big One."

We're fine here up in the high desert...although my mother is right down near Ontario (bout 10-15 miles from Chino Hills, if that) for work. Nothing wrong there, here or at her home so all seems well. Although it's all Fox News could go on about all day. Shook us up here pretty good..enough for me to make the kids get in the hall for a few minutes but it stopped pretty quick.
Y'all are still stuck with us!

Hehe... They're old hat's at the shake rattle and rolls. Now when we had our 5.4 here in the Midwest it was felt in 20 states! Now that was news! :tt2: Glad everyone seems to be ok!

Thanks guys...
It doesn't normally bother me, as living here for years and years you get used to it. Northridge actually WAS scary. We all knew that one was going to be bad. Normally it just feels like walking on a boat is all...or a big truck going by.
The only weird thing was that I was on the phone with my Mom when it hit so she said something and then a few seconds later it hit up here. It seemed to take about 10 seconds to travel about 25 miles up the big pass to our house from down in the valley. We actually kept her on speaker while we were waiting in the hall..so it was a rather strange experience to be able to talkto her during it, but at least I knew she was OK from the start and had the kids moved almost before it hit.
Talk about weird...
