I can't get my gradient browser to open in 2.08 or the 3D version, (which was perfectly fine before I downloaded 2.08). Anyone else having this problem? Suggestions for a solution would be very welcome.

Hello everyone!
I'm having problems with both this version and 3D also.
I can't get anything to show up, other than a little white hourglass in the preview window. Anyone know how to fix that problem?
Thanks,
Daidalos

I find that when the program first opens, it is generating a random batch of parameter sets to browse through. My older version was set to generate one hundred files, but the newer version seems to run much slower and one hundred files takes forever. Of course it also seems to be doing much more, so the trade-off is worth it.
I opened the options dialog box and re-set the random batch quantity to ten. It now finishes creating the batch very quickly and opens right up.
The problem I have that I have not solved is that the new version seems to require an enormous amount of processor time. I often have to wait for a response, because my "processor load" is at one hundred percent. Then it takes sometimes two or three "refreshes" to accept another command or mouse movement.
(Yes, I have an old school single core 2GH computer, running Windows XP.)

I can't say that I've had any of the problems other Apo users have experienced with the 2.08 release (my 1.2GHz PIII still takes roughly 12-24hrs to render @1024x768), however I am aware from the mailing list apophysis-subscribe@lists.fractalus.com that some users are experiencing a variety of issues (3rd party scripts not working etc.).
The purpose of my original post was just to let members here know that the 2.08 release was available. ;)

And thanks for that.
Don't get me wrong, I love the new version. I already listed my ONLY complaint, but you're right - there is no need to have multiple places for buggy issues to be posted. All questions should be referred to the team who can best answer them. Good point.
