How do I get the anisotropic highlights to appear on the V4 eye_surface and tear when importing a V4 character into Vue from Poser?
The V4 character has the "Lana" elite texture (DAZ3d) applied.
When I render in Poser the expected highlighs appear on the eye, and so does the "moisture" or "tear" as shown in the attached picture.
But when I inport this character into Vue6Infinite (yes I have the proper import plugin) the anisotropic lighting effects associated with the Eye_Surface and Tear materials are not applied properly.
In Vue, I checked the transparancy, highlight and reflection settings for these materials and they seem "normal" to me:-
Global transparency is 100%
Global reflectivity is 0%
Highlight colour, shininess etc seem appropriate
Isotropic-anisotropic slider was all the way over to isotropic, but changing that seems to have no effect.
I tried increasing the Global reflectivity and that does produce an effect; it turns the eye milky (or to a whitish ball if I use 100% reflectivity)
If anyone has used the V4 elite textures on a Poser figure rendered in Vue and got it to work, I'd appreciate you telling me how you did it.

When you're importing a Poser Pz3 to Vue there is this Poser Import Options window popping up and you need to check Render Materials using Poser Shader Tree plus click on No when the next window pops up and asks if you want to disable the features that require the handling of the mesh in Poser. With this settings the Poser materials are left intact and render nicely in Vue without the need to adjust the materials.

apart from the elite textures which crash Vue hard for some reason when you get to render the eyes :(

I have no problems with the Elite texture in Vue. Got Vue6Infinite and it renders nicely.
I have Vista 64 and therefore using the 64 bit Vue version ... maybe that's the reason why it's working for me?

Could well be the reason - I'm on 32bit. Glad it renders ok for you though. I'll have to stick with SkinVue :)

Sorry to be so slow responding to this:
I have Vue6inf 64bit with Vista; using the "Render Materials using Poser Shader Tree" does cause Vue to crash on my system :(
It's a new system with very little installed on it so I am surprised/disappointed at this odd behaviour. I have noticed that having Poser and Vue open together can sometimes cause either to crash.
It should not be a RAM shortage, there is 8GB.
I wonder if it is the video card, it is an Nvidea GeForce 8800GT with the latest drivers installed.
I know programmers can't predict every possible error, but you would think that they would put more effort into error trapping and giving useful error messages that can lead to identifying the problem; instead we get the usual useless message; An error has occured.
(no kidding, I wondered why the program had stopped working... an error... yes, that must be it!)
Sorry for the vitriol, but one can get very frustrated when thing don't work as they should :/
