I now have a super PC, quad core 3.0Ghz double graphic card ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2, 4 Go Memory and 32bit Vista.

But after installing Poser on it, I have the problem of very very very slow  selection of elements of objects I add in Poser (in the Pose Window) : such as body parts of V3 or V4 for example, it takes ages to select them, really weird !

Say I select a hand for example, it takes about 10-15 seconds, then another 10 before I can modify dials of that hand.

Render times are fine, no problem there, new PC renders a lot faster than my old one.

Any one have an idea ? Perhaps it's because I installed the latest patch ? I didn't try Poser before patching and I hadn't installed the latest patch on older machine.

Thanks in advance

I too have seen some slowness in the Pose window - but even worse, by a long way, is the length of time my PC takes to do anything in the Materials room.

I have P7 with SR3
Quad Core, ATI 4870, 4 Gig of RAM, Vista Ultimate 64 bit.

It's getting to the stage where making any changes in the materials room is just not worth it - shame, as with the new VSS, Poser was starting to create some really cool pics.

aah ATI?

have you tried the ATI drivers fix?

edit the poser.ini file located in C:Documents and SettingsApplication DataPoser 7poser.ini and change

PREVIEW_OGL_OBJECT_BBOXPICKING 0

to

PREVIEW_OGL_OBJECT_BBOXPICKING 1

Supposedly the ati drivers back in june corrected this issue, so boxpicking no longer had to be used.. wonder is a later driver busted it again?

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.
