Thanks for the heads up.

LostinSpaceman posted Thu, 28 August 2008 at 1:03 AM

Sounds exciting if they follow through with the support for Poser default folks as well. With this and Wardrobe Wizard we can all save bunches of money.

Tashar59 posted Thu, 28 August 2008 at 1:10 AM

They never supported the Poser figures in UTC. I would not be surprised that they don't with TC2. But I agree it would be a bonus if they did.

LostinSpaceman posted Thu, 28 August 2008 at 1:34 AM

From their FAQ Page:

Quote - *Texture Convertor Plugins

*TC2 Plugins are constantly being created, so if your favourite Poser figure is not yet supported, chances are it could be supported in the future. If you really like to see support for a particular figure, why not contact us and let us know.

The TC2 Plugins that will be available from launch date are:

...with plans to include Smith Micro's figures, Koshini range, 3D Universe toon range and many more!

ashley9803 posted Thu, 28 August 2008 at 3:46 AM

"....... For example, you could use TC2 to convert your favorite Victoria 3 texture set to work on Victoria 4."

Does this also mean that you can convert V4 textures to work on V3?

As essentially the V3 maps can be used on any V3 based model, could we see Mike 3, Mat, Maddie, etc., with the latest high-powered V4 textures, like the Elite range?
That would be nice.

This is great.  I use it alot.  Sharen

EnglishBob posted Thu, 28 August 2008 at 4:21 AM

It would be nice if they had included a mailing list so we could choose to be kept up to date with developments - but I suppose the community will let us know soon enough. :-)

mathman posted Thu, 28 August 2008 at 5:31 AM

When is it being released ?

GKDantas posted Thu, 28 August 2008 at 6:53 AM

I saw that it can save to MAT and DZ format...and PZ2 file format??

Yeah, I missed that and finally found the Daz thread but couldn't get back until now to correct my post. I was surprised the Daz thread was buried. I would have thought it would have been bigger news than it seems there. Then again, I have not had a chance yet today to check so it might be more popular now.

This will be a great tool if it does as it claims. I usd UTC quite a bit and would use TC2 even more. Like that 3rd part's can develope plugs too.

Lucifer_The_Dark posted Fri, 29 August 2008 at 8:50 AM

I was beginning to think this would end up being vapourware seeing as it's been 5 years since the original was released. Good news like this is always welcome though :D

Thinking about it, the best news of all is that third parties can develop plug-ins. If it's not too difficult to do, then any new figure can soon be supported - maybe even by their creators. No more worrying about lack of texture support.

bopperthijs posted Tue, 09 September 2008 at 5:53 PM

for our info.

Just checked a 3D-universe: release date of UTC2 is 11 september 2008 at DAZ., so that will be next thursday.

best regards,

Bopper.

Don't forget that big experiment that's supposed to happen today, it may end the world so UTC2 may NOT be released tomorrow. ;)

I'm worried too about this., but hopefully without cause.

Besides, they won't be doing full collisions today. So even if we are all doomed, we'll still probably have some time to use UTC2.

Still no support for Apollo Maximus I see. :(

bopperthijs posted Fri, 12 September 2008 at 3:58 AM

Textureconverter 2 works now after DAZ uploaded the correct installation files.
But another error occured: I got a error 6: overflow. This is caused by systems that a comma-seperator for decimal, which is the fact on the whole european mainland, you can change that in your region settings to get TC2 work. Very annoying!
There was a same problem with crossdresser 3, but that was fixed in their latest update. Hope TC2 will fix this bug as soon a possible.

Bopper.

...And there will be no plug-infor Apollo maximus, that's correct.

Hopefully they'll make good on their promise of the sdk for making our own plugins & us Apollo fans can make our own.

Just bought it, its just great, I can now save hours of time.

I was looking where you could name your converted texture, and associated Pz2 file. Any suggestions from those who already use the program??

Thanks Rowlando

Right click on the pz2 file in windows explorer, choose rename and type what you like. If you change the names of the converted texture, you have to open the pz2 file in notepad or similar program and rename the textures in there also so it can find them.
