Hi all,
I got my new machine yesterday and I am now ready to tackle installing poser 7 on it. The OS is Vista Home prem 64-bit and I haven't a clue how to go about doing this being and XP user for so long. The first thing I did was turning off the UAC, and letting vista validate. That's it so far LOL!
So is there some special trick to installing Poser 7 to Vista 64? I know you have to do this as the administrator.
Also how do I transfer my external runtimes to Vista? I have them all backed up on a 500 gig external HD.

I think I'm using Vista 64 and I don't remember having any problems installing poser 7.

I've been using Vista 64 Ultimate which is almost the same as Premium. I did the install this way.
I copied the whole of the CD to C:Temp then installed it from there as it takes ages off the disk. I did run the installer as an administrator (Right click - Run As Administrator) but I don't think this is necessary.
Once installed I set Poser to run as an Administrator by Right clicking the Poser.exe file in the c:Program Files (x86)e frontier folder, choosing Properties and ticking the Administrator box at the bottom of the Compatibility tab.
Just a note, if you have an Nvidia card and get freezing or crashing try adding the Poser.exe to tthe Manage 3D settings - Program settings tab and setting Threaded optimization to off. This helped me when Poser had problems after installing Vista Service pack 1.
I copied my Runtimes back into the same folder as the original after renaming them Runtime1 and Runtime2. I've had no problems so far.

Please what do you mean "same" folder? I have 5 named runtime folders does this mean I need to rename them now?
