Hello:
Does anyone have experience with the 3D connexion Space Explorer and Poser Pro?
I cannot seem to adjust the sensitivity to the point where I am able to adjust body parts without wild extremes of movement while barely touching the mouse. Attempting the same movement with the parameter dials works fine. I have reduced the speed on the mouse to its minimal point and have attempted to reduce the sensitivity of the individual body part or parts but to no avail.
Any suggestions???

I had to lower mine as well, but it works fine. Maybe try to learn a lighter touch?

Actually, the extreme movements occur when I am barely touching the joystick. I cannot imagine touching it any lighter.

OK, I reinstalled the driver and it seems to work somewhat more effectively but I cannot seem to get the programmable buttons to work. I am operating in the Mac OSX (mac/intel) environment. I tested the Space Explorer for macro function with the mac os and it works as it should on the desktop, however, it does not work with PoserPro or Poser 7.
Have you found the programmable buttons functional in in the above programs, Mac version?

Same here PC version works fine, I would go to the site and see if they can give you a hand with it. Were very nice when I had a problem in Maya.

Thank you for your suggestion, however, it appears that the company's support for Mac is limited at best. Although 3D Connexion's web site lists the Space Explorer as being "certified" for use in Poser or Poser Pro, their tech people have indicated that it uses the same driver as the Space Navigator and as such is no more functional on the Mac than the SN. That means that only 2 of the 15 buttons have any function at all! Nothing has been done to improve Mac compatibility since January 2007 when they "opened" the driver to include the Space Explorer. So, it appears that they have no intention of supporting the Mac in any meaningful way and that the only means of making the device functional may be to employ a 3rd party program such as Controller Mate. Admittedly, this approach is less than agreeable and should not be necessary for a device that is allegedly "certified" for use with Poser and Poser Pro.

I have been told that it only works on the camera?
is this right or can you use it to move figures/props/lights around as well?

You can use it to Bend and Pose the Figure as well.. the Space Navigator basically is either Camera or Figure. I tend to use mine mostly for the Camera, since it is always on the Camera.. depends on your work flow and your personal Work Process in Poser as to how you will use it. I suspect if I had it from the beginning, I would use it differently, but other than the Camera, I often forget I have it, because I am one of those people of habit when it comes to working in Poser and other products.
