When i first heard that the new 5d would be able to shoot video's, i was one of those one's that felt like it was a waste of time, but after viewing the video that came out of it, i have now decided to definitely get myself one. the links would take you straight to the video and the making of the video. Very impressive. [ **video**](http://www.usa.canon.com/dlc/controller?act=GetArticleAct&articleID=2086)MGD posted Tue, 23 September 2008 at 12:38 PM

It is the future .
They're just trying to preempt the storm that's going to hit them soon.
I wouldn't spend a lot of money on one just yet, not until you see what happens in 2009, unless of course you have a good use for one right now.
Red Digital Cinema has promised to enter the market in 2009 and it is likely to be the end of DSLR's as we know them at present.

if at all i buy this 5D mk2 camera, it would be because i always wanted a full frame camera. the fact that it also record video is just an optional advantage especially when the quality is that good.
but i will buy mine in america for £1,400 which isn't really that bad compare to the 5D which is retailing for £1,300 in the uk right now.

OK sounds good .
You havn't got a Betamax video or 8 track tape machine have you
Only joking Akpe
it looks like a super camera, but it is my fond belief there's a revolution in the offing.
