The ironic thing is, we have only ourselves to blame for companies like Adobe being so far up their own arse.  If folk weren't so dumb as to continually follow the 'industry standard' philosophy in the first place and instead 'shopped' around (sorry Adobe that's shopped as in shopping not Photo*hop) then they wouldn't be big enough to own the brand names they do.

They wouldn't be in the position they are now - simple as that.

Never liked Adobe anyway, way overpriced in my opinion.  I don't think the reason it's overpriced is because of piracy either, rather becuse it's the industry standard.  It's the industry standard because 'we' put it there, and we put it there because we're dumb enough to pay £600 for software that ought to go for around £60.

I think they added that costly little zero for good measure, or rather, industry standard measure!

I used to use Corel Draw a lot until I started comparing what I got with Corel and what I got when Photoshopping the same image. when I Photoshopped an image it always seemed to come out better. realistically though I'm not gonna worry about my grammar - if someone is small minded enough to ignore substance in favor of style in informal chats then the shame is on them - not me . . . A formal or professional paper is another matter but I don't see myself writing in that venue.

and yes - it is way overpriced !

50?  you're being way too generous. and if they are stupid enough to waste their money trying to sue someone as poor as me their I.Q. is in the minus range.

Windows has a handy little program called "charmap", which allows you to visually pick & copy special characters, as well as telling you the key combination required.

... of all the photoshopping (noun deleted) ! ! *   It's bad enough they have been putting unwanted pestware into their programs since their beginning...
Now, Adobe is trying to tell us how to spell, giving us unwanted grammar lessons and generally just being a pest ! !

Those guidelines have been up for many, many years.

There's a movie coming out soon about some guy who invented the windshield wipers. True story. The big car companies stole his idea, and he had to fight to get his due. Patents, trademarks, and copyrights are available to everyone. It's just that big companies are savvier at using them than most individuals are. That's why it pays to have a healthy respect and knowledge of them.

wasn't the windshield wiper invented by a lady? Mary Anderson?</pedant mode> :m_wink:
