I need the font that Ford uses for it's insignia on its vehicles. The name Ford. Just that. I've found several instances of Fordscript font, but none of the regular serif font they use to spell out the name.

I read somewhere that it was Helvetica Neue.
Thats the internet for you, no attribution, no context, nothing.
but now that I've put this on the internet it must be true! Right?

I have a suspicion they had that logo custom made... Chances are there's no such font available for us mere mortals...

years ago I had a corel-script for use in corel 8* that allowed you to make a picture font as a bmp or jpg or whatever and convert up to 128 characters to your own font. I don't know if that script is around here somewhere or not and you'd have to have an old copy of Corel to use it anyway but you might try creating your own font somehow. There are bunches of font making programs maybe even a free one somewhere.
I'd guess that at least Ford holds a copyright on whatever font they might use for their logo and my small look into the matter indicated that the law is sort of iffy on that issue.
I do know from years as an auto mechanic looking up procedures, parts and etc that Ford tries to patent everything and I mean everything they produce.

I searched on the Ford site and they supply the Font and the Symbol.
