I'm looking for some nice bird models for Vue. Included textures would be nice if possible. Thanks for any help!

Check out Cornicopia3d.com.  They have ducks and seagulls and probably more.  Or get Poser and the whole world of wildlife will open up for you.

I did look at Cornucopia before, all i saw for Vue was 2 butterfly packs.

I'd go for the Poser solution too.
You can get Poser 6 very cheaply and import the birds.
I've never had any problems importing from Poser into Vue, it works like a dream.

www.daz3d.com has lots of birds for Poser and Daz Studio. But if you just want Poser for the birds, this might not be worth the money. Probably Daz Studio (which is free) is sufficient, but I'm not sure.

The big advantage of this solution, versus a native Vue solution, is variety and flexibility. Not only there are tons of different types of birds, but you can pose the birds individually to have more diversity.

C3D also has a flock of seagulls as ecosystem (http://www.cornucopia3d.com/purchase.php?item_id=3436) but I personally think they are only good for long distance shots (even for medium shots I find them not very realistic).

Thanks for the replies, the DAZ solution sounds good. I will take a look and see what they have.

I regularly use birds purchased at DAZ.

I have the eagle 2, eagle expansion pack (lots of birds of prey), and some birds by third party vendor Noggin who has seagulls, crows, pigeons, owls and geese. The native DAZ birds look very nice with elaborate feather transparency and very detailed textures. I find that Noggin has the habit of placing the eyes of his models too much on the side (especially true for the crows and seagulls), but otherwise they are quite good and include most of the poses you need.

You can also check out the songbird series also, for lots of smaller birds.

What was I thinking?  I forgot completely about Daz Studio.  Yes, that is a much more affordable solution.  Free software and all you have to do is purchase the models.

If you have Poser, content Paradise had some great birds too for either free (membership required) or very low cost.  They are free for a week or so when they come out with a new freebie.

I love Noggins birds - very real looking and easy to pose.

Or you could buy Modo and make your own birds. renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php
