If you want to render the same scene in 3D and in 2D, here is a simple trick :
Add a distant light to render in 3D... OK !!! Nothing's new here !!!
THEN make this light INVISIBLE (do not delete it !) to render the scene... in 2D !!!
Don't forget to add 30 % (or more) Ambient color on your surfaces. Finished !!!
Here is an example with a bumpercar I made :

Neat trick.
But I'd prefer the cartoon style render to look a litle brighter - so probably have to do a post-pro gamma adjustment in a 2D app.

Improvement :
I have tested with the default cartoon render of Daz : (With a rotation of the distant light and without rotation ! And with 30% ambient color then with 100% !)
It could be better with toonshaders in Daz !?!
