Ok,I bought it and I ran a couple of tests and from a very personal point of vue, I do like it a lot!
I love it's soft lightning and shadows, the way it renders, something I paid a lot for during my photographic days. You'll find the light shader HERE at DAZ.
Here are three test renders with different settings:
Rendersize 600*600
Full (sic!) 3Delight render
Bucketsize 8
Max RayTraceDepth 2
Pixel Samples X/Y 5
Shadowsamples 8
AreaLight settings:
Shadows ON
Intensity (+scale) 100
Area Samples 16
Falloff ON
Rendertime: 4 min 59 secs
same settings but
Area samples 32
Rendertime: 5 min 41 secs
Same settings but
Area samples 128
Rendertime: 10 mins 13 secs
My systems specs:
XP Media Center, SP 3, DirectX 9.0c
DualCore AMD Athlon 64x2 4200+ (2200MHz)
NVIDIA GeForce 7300GS (512 mb)
NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS (512mb)
still only 1 gig of PC3200 DDR SDRAM
double screen display.
So in my opinion, this is one of the best lightshaders you can find, specially when you are looking for a very soft lightning.
And just by the way:
What you see here is the DL UberPointSphere applied to the AreaLight, works with the fall off settings.
